DurIng this cruise, DCL was testing repetition of main shows on the Walt Disney Theatre on consecutive nights. After much negative from guests, the shows by John Charles were moved to the Walt Disney Theatre and repeat showing of Disney Dreams was a matinee. This was a much better solution than what is shown in the Day 1 Navigator.
Also during this cruise, we went to Tracy Arm on Day 8 instead of Endicott Arm. Our server said that it was the first time in 2 years that the Wonder was able to sail to Tracy Arm. We were lucky that ice conditions allowed us to sail through the fjord to Tracy Arm. It was very beautiful.
Thank you for the update on Tracy Arm.
I understood we were in Endicott Arm. We were the first ship to head down the Fjord early in the AM. It was quite overcast and misty. Looking back at past cruises and comparing pictures of both Tracy and Endicott Arms, I am almost certain we were in Endicott. DCL did not have a narrator. What was really spectacular was Hubbard Glacier.
We confirmed with a cast member (who called the bridge to confirm) that we were in Endicott. I think there was some miscommunication though as my parents heard from another cast member that we were in Tracy Arm.
Sarah, thanks for letting me know. I will say from our experience they are somewhat vague about the situation. I imagine it is just easier to say Tracy Arm just like if you were to call facial tissue Kleenex.
For this cruise do you recommend staying on port side or starboard side to view Hubbard and Tracy arm? We are going next year in July and thought we be best going on port side. Any help greatly appreciated and thanks!
It shouldn’t matter. The Wonder will rotate when viewing Hubbard and you go into to arm turn around and leave the same way you entered giving both sides a view. Ultimately, we found it enjoyable to be on deck for these experiences so we had the choice of which side we wanted to view at any given moment.
Thank you Scott! When we are not viewing the Hubbard and Tracy Arm what side of the boat would you recommend staying? Forgot to ask that in my first question. I assume as you head up toward Alaska the port side might be better to view the scenery that we float by and of course as you come back toward Vancouver the starboard side? Appreciate all your help and thank you for this wonderful site!
I feel a bit stupid for asking, but if I’m correct: when the Wonder goes through the Fjords or Panama Canal, is that effectively a “Day at Sea” to give the passengers a view of both?
Yes they are basically days at sea with incredible views or a unique experience.
