The 4/1 performance of Frozen was cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances.” Word on the street is that 12+ cast members were quarantined due to COVID protocols. The show was replaced with screenings of “Encanto” in the Walt Disney Theatre.

We were also on this sailing, and although Disney Dreams took the stage the next night, it was noticeably down in performers.

Does anyone know if they are handing out paper navigators aboard the ships yet? I thought it was coming back and actually prefer that to having everything be on the phone. Thanks.

As far as I know, they have no plans to bring back paper navigators as this was something they wanted to retire in favor of the app a few years ago before guest feedback put pressure on them to at least offer them upon request or had them available for pickup at guest services.

I agree. Keep giving feedback to DCL. I do NOT like the DCL APP and much prefer the paper Navigator. Much easier to read at a glance, plus I keep them as keepsake.

My wife and I were on that as well as the next one for 5 days. We had a shore excursion at 8:15am for an island/Bison tour. We were on the first tender boat from the ship to shore so the Harbor patrol welcomed us with a fire hose spray! We had a great driver and it was my first time to the island.

I heard that too, the show was canceled due to performers having test Pos for covid. The same show was canceled on our 5 day cruise.

We spoke to a lot of people about paper Navigators and they all want them back. Mainly to see at a glance what is going on, not having to carry a phone around, a way to remember what was when or where. I spoke to Guest Services about it, their reason to cut down on paper. Understandable but I suggested having GS do a print on demand for guests who may not have a phone or want to use a phone. Print a simple form on a single sheet of paper, front & back with the schedules, activities, locations etc, make it in B&W even. I suggested this also to the DVC desk as well..

All in all, it was a great B2B cruise for us. Wonderful to be back cruising and the cast members were over the moon to be back and so happy.

It’s interesting that most everyone wants the paper Navigator back, yet DCL who says they are big on customer service doesn’t want to provide them. The least they could do is to offer them upon request. DCL says it’s to save paper, yet there are tons of paper advertisements for port retailers in the staterooms. It’s sad there are no accommodations for those who do not own a smartphone. I just have an old flip phone for emergencies.

It’s not for the environnement. All those mobiles are recharged by electricity made by the ship using oil. That’s very polluting.
A sheet of paper from responsible source or recycled material is much better for the earth or our lungs while ont the lido deck.
