I’d like to thank Vern Woodruff for submitting these along with the following notes on the sailing that are presented below as submitted.

Guest’s Cruise Notes:

  • Our server told us that there were 1500 passengers on our cruise, with 1300 scheduled for the next.  The CDC was limiting the maximum to be 1700, compared to the 2700 max capacity.
  • We originally had booked 2 connecting deluxe inside rooms on Deck 2, but a couple of weeks before the cruise, Disney upgraded us to Oceanview rooms on Deck 6.
  • The Disney characters typically were seen as part of an “Appear and Wave”, where they would be a deck higher than the Atrium floor.
  • There were times listed as a “Character Photo”.  This consisted of a Disney photographer and a character.  The character would stand on the floor that led into Lumiere’s, while you would be a few steps lower on the Atrium floor.  These photo opportunities were better than the Appear and Wave, since the Disney characters seem to be photo-bombing your picture.
  • The characters for the photo times were not listed anywhere, but we were able to find out from asking the photographers or the character handlers.
  • This was a Merrytime Cruise, so we expected to see Santa.  However, Santa was never listed on the Daily Activities listing.  We found out from a photographer that two of the “Character Photo” times were for Santa.  They were the 9 and 10:30 am times on our first sea day (but these were cancelled), and 9 and 10 am on our second sea day.  Both of those days also had “Storytime with Mrs. Claus”, which were to have a surprise guest at the end.
  • Our Daily activities listing showed the “Very Merrytime Fireworks” at 10:30 on day 4 of our cruise.  However, while it was not listed, we found out that the “Very Merrytime Fireworks” would also occur at 10:15 on day 3 of our cruise.  Both shows were relatively lightly attended, and we had no problems obtaining great viewing locations shortly before the fireworks started.
  • For the posed photos with a photographer, you did not need a mask and they would remind you to remove your mask if you forgot.
  • The formal wear and pirate costume nights were not really noted on the daily schedule.  You could infer pirate night from the other activities, but I had to see the photo backdrops to know the formal wear evening.
  • The Castaway Cay 5k was done on your own.  You ran (or walked) the course, then stopped at the bike rental booth to pick up your completion award.
  • Seating in the Walt Disney Theatre was very limited, since an empty row was kept between people and three empty seats between parties.  You needed to make sure to arrive early for a seat.
  • A pleasant surprise was the showing of two non-Disney Christmas movies.  The Polar Express and The Grinch (with Jim Carrey) were shown on Funnel Vision.
  • While I did despise having to keep my phone with me since there were no paper navigators or menus, it was nice to be able to look at all 5 days of the schedule after boarding.
  • We had purchased the photo package and the recently added Magic Pictures (examples below) were a nice bonus.  We found the photographers on the upper decks.  There also was a listing in the Daily Activities for “Photos with a Touch of Magic!”

If you have any navigators you would be willing to share, please send me an email. If you would rather upload the files you can use our upload form.
