Disney Vacation Club Reschedules 2020 Alaskan DVC Member Cruise to August 29, 2022

Following the cancellation of the 2020 Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise earlier this month, a decision was made to reschedule to August 29, 2022. According to the information posted on DVC’s 2020 Member Cruise page (pdf), guests with a reservation for the sold out 2020 Member Cruise will automatically be moved to the same stateroom aboard this newly scheduled 2022 sailing at no extra charge. No action is required on your part for those who prefer to take advantage of this option.

For those who are unable to sail on the 2022 Alaska Member Cruise, you can receive a refund for your 2020 Member Cruise reservation, including reimbursement of any cash and/or the return of any Reservation Points used for your reservation.

For assistance, please call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 by August 5. Please note that any Reservation Points that are about to expire will be extended for a year from your original Use Year.

Based on Disney Cruise Line’s itinerary announcement history, I estimate the Summer 2022 dates to be announced in early 2021. Even though there was no doubt, this is confirmation the Disney Wonder will return to Alaska in 2022.

The rescheduling was not clear on the specific itinerary for the 2022 Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise. For now, the 7-Night Alaskan DVC Member Cruise departing Vancouver on Monday August 29, 2022 has been set up as the same 7-night Alaskan itinerary as 2020 until we learn otherwise.

  1. Monday August 29, 2022 – Vancouver
  2. Tuesday August 30, 2022 – At Sea
  3. Wednesday August 31, 2022 – Dawes Glacier, Alaska

Disney Vacation Club published the following FAQ:

Is the 2020 DVC Member Cruise cancelled?

The Canadian government has extended its decision to not allow cruise ships to dock in Canadian ports through October 31 due to COVID-19. This unfortunately requires Disney Cruise Line to cancel its 2020 Alaskan sailings from the port of Vancouver, B.C., including the 2020 Member Cruise.

I have a 2020 Member Cruise reservation. What are my options?

We have coordinated another Alaska Member cruise in 2022 onboard the Disney Wonder, departing from Vancouver, B.C. and sailing from August 29 to September 5, 2022. If you’d like to sail with us then, we will automatically move your 2020 Member Cruise reservation to the same stateroom aboard this newly scheduled 2022 sailing at no extra charge. If joining us for our 2022 Alaska Member cruise is not an option, you can receive a refund including reimbursement of any cash and/or the return of any Reservation Points used for your reservation.

I’d like to transfer my 2020 Member Cruise reservation to the 2022 Member Cruise to Alaska, what do I need to do?

No action is required on your part if you’d like to rebook your cruise. If we have not heard from you by August 5, we will automatically move your existing 2020 Member Cruise reservation to the same stateroom aboard the 2022 Member Cruise at no extra charge. If you’d like to make changes to your reservation, such as adding Members to your sailing party, please call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 no later than September 5, 2020. Note that any changes made to your reservation may impact price and are subject to availability.

Is it possible to change my stateroom?

Depending on availability, you may change your stateroom. Note that any changes made to your reservation may impact price. Please call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to review options no later than September 5, 2020. Please note all changes are subject to availability.
