Disney Magic Converting 11 Staterooms to Concierge Level

Disney Cruise Line will be converting eleven Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (CAT 4A) into Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah (CAT 3A). The furnishings and amenities will be upgraded for sailings beginning May 5, 2023 and beyond, and will be available for booking beginning February 1, 2023.

The following 4A – Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah are being converted to Category 3A Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah:

The addition of these 11 staterooms will increase the total number of concierge staterooms on the Disney Magic to 44.

According to Disney, guests with existing reservations will not impacted by this change. However, these staterooms will continue to be Category 4A staterooms for available sail dates prior to May 5, 2023 and will not include Concierge level perks.

In January 2020, a similar change was announced, but the conversion was put on hold due to the industry shutdown.

The Disney Magic is [unofficially at this time] going to dry dock during a 21-night itinerary gap which starts on April 14, 2023 in New Orleans. The Disney Magic is scheduled to resume passenger service from San Juan, Puerto Rico on May 5th with an 8-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise.

I’ve sailed Concierge on the Disney Magic and I don’t think the Concierge Lounge would be big enough to handle the additional people. Are they expanding the lounge space as well?

I’m surprised how many people purchase these type of rooms considering they are not eligible for the 10% onboard discount and are also non-refundable from the time you purchase

I’m more concerned about the impact to booking activities for the “rest of us”. We are Gold (thankfully nearing Platinum) and already on the Wish there are many things already sold out by Gold or the spa times etc are not good as the huge amount of Concierge squeezes out availability. I don’t think us moving to Platinum will help this much as in our cruise group it sounded like a lot of that stuff was gone after Concierge and didn’t even make it to Platinum.

I hear you. Getting ready for an 8 night to Bermuda in April. This is number 11. Still Gold. All excursions are booked up. Never been able to schedule a reservation at a Palo or Remy, Dinner or Brunch. You know they have NEVER advertised the Rainforest anywhere on any website. It is like a dirty little secret for the rich and famous. Couldn’t book it for any cruise if I wanted to. We have paid an outside travel agency to book our excursions for our 2 days in Bermuda. The sad thing is we take all our cash and spend it somewhere else. I have no use for another pair of ears.

I was on the Wish over NYE and the concierge hosts mentioned this. They said the Magic lounge is being expanded (kind of like the Wonder) to be able to hold more guests.
