Disney Wish was originally announced for a late 2021 delivery, but due to the pandemic the dates slipped to a spring 2022 delivery with the first sailing slated for Summer 2022. The new class of Disney Cruise vessel will be powered by clean-burning liquefied natural gas.

I swear I am the only DCL fan that is not looking forward to this ship. Mostly due to. The fact that Disney broke a huge maritime superstition with this ship by publicly naming this ship before the keel laying. I even know crew members who hope they never get offered a contract for this ship. I know I will be in the minority.

Do we actually know for sure that this is what occurred? Just because there wasn’t a public keel laying prior to the naming doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

My info come directly from Captain Henry. When the ship was publicly named in 2018 at D23 the keel nor the steel had been cut yet.
