Last Month, Disney Cruise Line contacted guests booked on the July 25, 2016 or August 8, 2016 7-Night Alaskan Cruise – Itinerary A to tell them that they need to board the ship by 3:00 PM local time, one hour earlier than original scheduled. Earlier this week, DCL decided to rename the itinerary for the following sailings from itinerary A to 7-Night Alaskan Cruise on Disney Wonder – Itinerary E.
As you can see the only difference is the departure time from Vancouver on day 1. The change while small was most likely done to make it clear to all guests booked on these two sailings there is a difference as well as making it easier for DCL to generate cruise documents for these sailings with the proper details.
By the way, for anyone thinking about the jump from A to E in the naming and if it is a hint at some different Disney Wonder Alaskan itineraries in the future… Stop. I had that idea for a minute until I realized 2012 happened where B represented the Seattle sailings and C and D were the 7-Night cruises that repositioned the Wonder between Vancouver and Seattle. However, I imagine the DCL marketing department is burning the midnight oil trying to come up with clever ways to say E is for the Extra Magic Hour on select Disney Wonder sailings to Alaska.
Special thanks to David Davies from TouringPlans.com for alerting me to the itinerary name change.
