Today, during the Destination D23 “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” session of the weekends fan event held at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort, Thomas Mazloum shared updates on Disney Cruise Line as it prepares for a period of growth unlike anything ever experienced before!

Disney teams are collaborating with talented artists and cultural advisors in the Bahamas to shape an experience that celebrates the natural beauty, traditions and artistry of the one-of-a-kind nation.

While speaking to the audience, Mazloum told fans that “With a stunning shoreline that overlooks vast, vivid blue waters, it is only fitting that we call this destination Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.” He shared the latest artist design concepts with fans, adding, “Disney is collaborating with talented artists and cultural advisors in The Bahamas who are helping to shape an experience that celebrates the natural beauty, traditions and artistry of this one-of-a-kind nation.”

Located along the southern tip of Eleuthera, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point will serve as a window to the natural beauty of The Bahamas and provide families with the opportunity to enjoy the site’s pristine beaches, explore nature, embark on adventures and experience the broader tourism offerings in Eleuthera.

Once in operation, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point will continue to create sustainable economic opportunities for Bahamians and strengthen the community in Eleuthera. This development has created approximately 300 construction-related jobs for Bahamians – nearly tripling the number of jobs the cruise line committed to in its Heads of Agreement.

“We can’t wait to welcome Disney guests and Bahamians to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point to experience Eleuthera and all of its beauty, rich culture and history,” said Joey Gaskins, Regional Director of Public Affairs in The Bahamas and Caribbean. “The Bahamian community has played a special role in this project since the beginning. We’ve been intentional about supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs and involving Bahamians in both the development and operation of the destination.”

Disney Cruise Line has committed to creating at least 150 operational jobs, including management roles, with benefits in a range of disciplines and levels, and with opportunities for training and advancement.

Thanks for ruining a beautiful sacred place, Disney.
If people want some man-made crap they should stay at the theme parks instead of destroying nature.

I can’t wait for Disney’s new Lookout Cay! Your other private island is such a beautiful destination, and frankly, the only place I get off the ship for. The landscaping is so beautiful! And customer service is impeccable! Of course, there’s always a but… But please provide plenty of shade! I will never understand why Disney doesn’t provide more shade! In their parks and on their beaches. When people are crammed in a tight area in full sun they get grumpy. More shade would not only help the environment.(Oxygen and all that) It would keep more people a bit happier. I think this would make the experience so much more enjoyable!!!!! So thank you for adding another private island where everything is up to Disney’s amazing standards! From the Landscaping to the cast, to the fly free food. It’s magic! And me and my family can’t wait to see it!

Lighthouse Point’s coast is environmentally vunerable. Thanks to Disney Cruises this beautiful landscape will be destroyed forever. SHAME on you Disney and SHAME on your dumb tourist who NEVER took the time to educate themselves on the eminent destruction of this sacred place. If you want to give your children a life inspired vacation, DON’T TAKE YOUR CHILD ON A HAVEN OF VIRUSE’S CRUISE. Fly to Eleuthera, book a home and feel the raw advernturous beauty of the island.
