Guests arriving at PortMiami to check in for today’s 4-Night Bahamian Cruise on the Disney Magic are receiving revised and expanded embarkation health questionnaire with additional questions regarding the 2019 Novel Coronavirus threat. Furthermore, the form references The Bahamas recently issued restriction prohibiting passengers from disembarking in any Bahamian port of call which would include Nassau and Castaway Cay.
The latest passenger health questionnaire asks the following Yes or No questions :
- Have you or any occupant of your stateroom traveled from or through China, including Hong Kong or Macau, in the past 14 days?
- Have you or any occupant of your stateroom had close contact with, or helped care for, anyone suspected or diagnosed as having Novel Coronavirus, or who is currently subject to health monitoring for possible exposure to Novel Coronavirus?
- The Bahamas will not allow anyone who has been in China in the past 20 days to disembark at any Bahamian port of call. Have you or any occupant of your stateroom been to China, including Hong Kong or Macau, in the past 20 days?
- Do you or any occupant of your stateroom have a fever (100.4ºF / 38ºC or higher), feel feverish, or have chills, a cough or difficulty breathing?
- Within the last 3 days, have you or any occupant of your stateroom developed symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea?
Disney Cruise Line’s health questionnaire reminds guests they are filling this out for all guests occupying the stateroom, and any dishonest answers may have serious public implications.
Disney began asking guests screening questions about the Novel Coronavirus in late-January followed last week’s 20-day restriction imposed by The Bahamas.
The 2019 Novel Coronavirus recently caused the Diamond Princess cruise ship to be quarantined at sea.
The line entering the PortMiami terminal today was slow. Guests we spoke with confirmed, for those who were using passports, each page was checked.
It is a somewhat awkward single file line kind of set up. They did go through every page of the passport before we boarded. It took about 45 minutes to go from the garage to boarding.

Disney Cruise Line sent out a new email this afternoon effectively replacing the previously communication sent last week asking guests who had traveled through mainland China within the 14 days prior to their arrival to contact Disney.
In an abundance of caution, Disney Cruise Line is expanding this measure to include guests that have traveled through Hong Kong and Macau. Given the unique environment of a cruise ship, guests and crew members who indicate they have traveled from or through China, including Hong Kong and Macau, in the 14 days prior to embarkation will not be able to board. In addition, The Bahamas will not allow anyone to disembark in any Bahamian port of call if they have been to China in the past 20 days prior to their arrival.
