It all started with the Magic Class with the launch of the Disney Magic in 1998. Often referred to as the Classic ships, they are the foundation of Disney Cruise Line's fleet. Most notably, the Magic Class offers a more intimate experience with smaller passenger capacity compared to newer classes.

DREAM CLASS

Launched in 2011 with the Disney Dream, the Dream Class of ships are larger than the Magic class, offering more space and additional amenities. The Dream Class ships were the first cruise ships to feature a water coaster at sea with the addition of the AquaDuck on the upper decks.

WISH CLASS

The Wish Class represents Disney Cruise Line's new approach to cruise ship design, focusing on immersive storytelling and advanced technology leveraging IP from across the parent company's brands. The Wish Class introduced the first-ever Disney attraction at sea with the AquaMouse which builds on the success of the AquaDuck on the Dream Class. The Disney Wish, which launched in 2022 was the first vessel in the Disney fleet to use eco-friendly Liquefied natural gas (LNG) for fuel.

ADVENTURE CLASS

The Adventure Class features innovative Disney experiences along with the dazzling entertainment, world-class dining and legendary guest service that set Disney Cruise Line apart. There will likely be only one cruise ship in this class as the vessel was originally the GLOBAL DREAM purchased and reimagined as a Disney Cruise Line vessel. The exterior is adorned in the iconic, Mickey Mouse-inspired colors of the fleet, complete with signature red funnels.

The 208,000-gross-ton ship is one of the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available.

N.N. (2029-2031) CLASS

The three vessels in Disney's new ship class will feature industry-leading technology and design to expand Disney Cruise Line's global reach and support its environmental goals. Able to carry 3,000 Guests and measuring approximately 100,000 gross tons, they will be 20 percent larger than the Disney Magic class and smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Wish classes, ultimately allowing Disney Cruise Line to access more ports and destinations across the globe, bringing its world-class entertainment, incredible dining, Guest service, and uniquely Disney experiences to more families in more places. The three ships are planned for delivery in 2029, 2030 and 2031.

Among the lightest cruise ships of their size in the industry, the new vessels will save fuel with a streamlined hull, next-generation power and propulsion systems, and numerous other operations optimized for energy efficiency. In addition to an innovative design and the efficient use of building materials from bow to stern, the ships will be outfitted with energy-efficient systems and a battery system to support and supplement the main engines.

When in port, the new vessels can rely on shore power technology to turn off their engines and "plug in" to a port's energy grid to run onboard systems. They will also have the capability and flexibility to operate on a variety of fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil and renewable methanol fuels, while remaining adaptable to additional fuel options that become available to the cruise industry.
