Disney Fantasy Skipping San Juan Amid Protests During 11-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise

Disney Cruise Line made the decision to skip a scheduled visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico on Sunday August 4, 2019 due to ongoing unrest and protests throughout the city. The Disney Fantasy will instead visit St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands on the same day.

Disney Cruise Line has been closely monitoring the situation in San Juan and decided it would be best to forego the stop in the interest of guest safety.

The Disney Fantasy’s Saturday July 27, 2019 11-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral new itinerary is as follows:

  1. Port Canaveral
  2. At Sea
  3. At Sea
  4. Aruba
  5. At Sea
  6. Barbados
  7. Martinique
  8. Basseterre (St. Kitts)
  9. St Thomas, US Virgin Islands
  10. At Sea
  11. Castaway Cay

The difference between the port fees for San Juan and St. Thomas will be refunded to the original form of payment. Any pre-reserved Port Adventures for San Juan will automatically be removed from guests cruise plans and refunded. Guests who are interested in booking Port Adventures in St. Thomas are invited to visit the onboard Port Adventures desk to view the available offerings.

They mixed up their “Aboard” and “Ashore” headings. They should be switched. For San Juan, they arrive at 7am and it’s all aboard at 3pm.

For our October sailing stopping at San Juan, our ashore time is 8:30a and our aboard time is 4:45p. Funny though that they got the Aboard and Ashore headings mixed up in this notice!

Surprised they made an early decision. The governor announced yesterday that he’s stepping down effective Friday, August 2. Perhaps the celebrations would not be conducive to cruise passengers wandering about San Juan.
