Such a mess! The bookings opened about 10 minutes before midnight. By midnight, the site was overloaded. It opened up again around 1:30 this morning. I was fortunate to make my bookings just before midnight, but the site locked up before showing the confirmation. I felt better when I received the email confirmation, but it wasn’t until after 1:30 that I could actually see the bookings on the site.

I didn’t get to book until 2am (sleep). By then the site was fine. I think everyone was excited because we all thought Marvel day at sea would be like swdas and we’d have to wait until we were on board to know what’s happening.

A better way would have been for DCL to have this set up for the first sailing to avoid the rush of all guests of all Castaway Club levels who are within the booking window for New York sailings.

I completely agree, Scott. It feels very last minute. I feel like we are the guinea pigs for future swdas or similar sailings. Like they wanted to see how online booking would pan out.

They have been doing online booking for Princess Gathering, Frozen Meet & Greet, as well as the character breakfast. Frankly, it frees up the guest service crew and allows them to deal with realtime issues during the sailing.

Yeah. I guess what I meant is DCL still keeps trying to make booking activities on board work better when time and again online booking (when done correctly) works the best.

Just curious since this is my first disney cruise . Does anyone know if more tickets will be released later on if something sells out on the website now ? I was looking to book the groot meeting but got online too late. Thanks.

This is new territory with the Marvel Day at Sea meet & greets. Traditionally, meet & greet tickets have still been available to guests for experiences like the Princess Gathering and the Frozen Meet & Greet onboard. However, since this this a special event cruise we will not know until people board the Magic for the first cruise and inquire with guest services.
