On Saturday, August 5th, nearing the end of a 10-Night Mediterranean cruise, the Disney Magic came to the rescue of a small boat in distress filled with approximately 10 people. The Magic, on a day at sea, was sailing between Palermo and Palma de Mallorca when the small vessel was spotted approximately 70 miles south of Sardinia.

The Italian Coast Guard was contacted and the Disney Magic held position until they arrived approximately four hours later.

The Disney Magic will return to Barcelona on Monday August 7th for the start of a 5-night Mediterranean cruise which will switch her schedule to Saturday 7-night Mediterranean departures for the duration of her time in Barcelona. On September 16, the Disney Magic will depart Barcelona on an 11-night Transatlantic cruise to New York.
