UPDATE: October 2, 2015 – Disney Dream Hugging Florida Coastline
Since leaving Port Canaveral on Thursday night, the Disney Dream slowly sailed south hugging Florida’s east coast to avoid potential impacts from Hurricane Joaquin. The map below from MarineTraffic.com show the Disney Dream (and Disney Fantasy) along with the current winds associated with Hurricane Joaquin.
Disney Dream October 1st 3-Night Itinerary Altered to Avoid Hurricane Joaquin
The Disney Dream’s current 3-Night Bahamian cruise will be altered to avoid Hurricane Joaquin. The Disney Dream will spend Friday, October 2nd at sea instead of the scheduled day at Nassau. According to reports from guests arriving at Port Canaveral the status of Saturday’s scheduled call to Castaway Cay is pending.
Hurricane Joaquin has caused authorities in the Bahamas to issue hurricane warnings across the region.
The Dream was supposed to go into drydock today in Freeport, right?
No.
What is their status now?
Karla, I just updated the article with a position update.
Just got back, awesome cruise. The day at sea was a nice change and we still made it to castaway cay. Captain did an excellent job keeping us in calm waters for the entire trip.
