Earlier this week, Turner Classic Movies announced the next round of special guests that will appear this December on the Third TCM Classic Cruise aboard the reimagined Disney Magic. Legendary actress Margaret O’Brien, film historian and author Eddie Muller, award-winning actress Illeana Douglas, and iconic game show host Alex TrebekThey will join the previously announced roster that includes movie legends Jane Powell, Robert Wagner, Theodore Bikel and the Alloy Orchestra, as well as TCM hosts Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz.
Margaret O’Brien has been performing on screen for nearly 75 years, beginning as a top child star during the 1940s. Her extensive credits include Journey for Margaret (1942), which shot her to stardom; the beloved musical Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), which helped her earn a special Oscar® as the year’s outstanding child actress; and enduring classics like Tenth Avenue Angel (1948), The Secret Garden (1949) and Little Women (1949).
Eddie Muller is author of Dark City: The Lost World of Film Noir and creator of the Film Noir Foundation and the multi-city Dark City Noir Film Festival. Muller, who will be on board to introduce several film noir classics, has previously appeared at the TCM Classic Film Festival and presented a wide collection of films penned by noir authors as host of TCM’s Friday Night Spotlight in June.
Illeana Douglas is known for her roles in such films as To Die For (1995), Grace of My Heart (1996) and Ghost World (2001). A talented writer and producer, she recently created and wrote the popular web comedy Easy to Assemble. Douglas, who hosted TCM’s Friday Night Spotlight on movies worth a second look in May, is the granddaughter of two-time Oscar winner Melvyn Douglas (Ninotchka, Hud, Being There).
Alex Trebek, the iconic host of the long-running game show Jeopardy!, is making his second TCM Classic Cruise appearance, during which he will once again be on hand to test passengers’ movie knowledge. Trebek has won five Daytime Emmys as host of Jeopardy!, and in 2011, was honored with a special Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmys.
The TCM Classic Cruise hosted by Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz will set sail December 8, 2013 from Miami, Florida with stops in Nassau and Castaway Cay.
