Earlier today, Turner Classic Movies announced that movie legends Jane Powell, Robert Wagner, and Theodore Bikel will be joining TCM Hosts Robert Osborn and Ben Mankiewicz this December for the Third TCM Classic Cruise Aboard the reimagined Disney Magic.
Theodore Bikel is know for his work on the silver screen as well as on Broadway. Bikel’s career began in 1958 with The African Queen, and garnered an Academy Award nomination 7 years later for his role in The Defiant Ones. Beikel was part of the original Broadway cast of the Sound of Music and multiple productions of Fiddler on the Roof.
Jane Powell, a longtime contributor to Turner Classic Movies is best known for her musical performances in 1951’s the Royal Wedding and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). Powell, was on hand in New York City when the TCM was launched in April 1994.
Rounding out the trio of special guest stars is Dr Evil’s second in command and Frequent TCM collaborator, Robert Wagner. Wagner is known for much more than his role as Number Two in the Austin Powers franchise with a career that has spanned 6 decades with roles on the big screen as well as recent television appearances.
Additionally, Alloy Orchestra, a three-man musical ensemble that has written and performed live accompaniment to classic silient films for over two decades will be on board. Alloy Orchestra features the talents of Terry Donahue, Ken Winokur, and Roger Miller.
The TCM Classic Cruise hosted by Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz will set sail December 8, 2013 from Miami, Florida with stops in Nassau and Castaway Cay.
