Disney Cruise Line released a new video this morning with new details on the reimagination of the adult nighttime entertainment area Beat Street which will be transformed into After Hours during the Disney Magic’s overhaul which will begin in just under a month in Cadiz, Spain. After Hours should appeal to a wide variety of passengers with three diverse venues each with unique entertainment offerings providing guests with some big city-style fun on the high seas. After Hours will be located by the forward elevators on deck 3 with each venue easily accessible from the other for easy bar hopping.
Watch the all new inside look at After Hours hosted by Imagineer, Lysa Migliorati. Then, afterwards take a closer look at each venue.
If I’m interpreting this rendering correctly, it appears the logos for Fathoms, O’Gills, and Keys will be recreated in layered glass in the hallway.
Fathoms
Time to shake the rocks out of the Magic ahead under the sea, Rockin’ Bar D will become Fathoms. Fathoms is a night club inspired by the exciting elements of the sea from the ripples of the water to the jellyfish inspired custom lighting fixtures on the ceiling.
The all color palate is also based on the sea with pearlescent blues and aquas transforming the space into a beautifully vibrant venue.
Just imagine how fun bingo will now be in an under the sea environment!
Keys
Your music lessons in Sessions are over. Sessions will transform into Keys, a low-key piano bar. Keys will be a perfect to venue to relax, enjoy your favorite cocktail, or drink of the day all while enjoying the soft sounds of the piano in venue inspired the name itself, the keys of a piano.
O’Gills Irish Pub and Sports Bar
Rounding up After Hours is a slight change in direction, as Diversions makes a lateral move to O’Gills. Throw back a few cold ones in this Irish pub and sports bar while watching live sporting events. Imagineers wanted to bring the popularity of O’Gills from the Disney Fantasy to the Disney Magic in this reimagined venue.
What do you think about the planned renovations which will transform Beat Street into After Hours?
I’m new to the party here — is there any word on whether they will do the same for the Wonder? I’d love the Avengers Academy and the above changes to be re-imagined there as well! Thanks for the blog, it’s great.
The Wonder is expected to undergo an overhaul in 2016.
