Some more tidbits (still rumors) have showed up online regarding the changes in store for the [Disney_Magic] when she goes for her overhaul in the fall following her Mediterranean cruises. According to an exclusive article over at StitchKingdom.com, the Magic will be getting what will be called Marvel’s Avengers Academy as part of the kids club refurbishment; one of the first Marvel experiences for Disney. The kids club will also take a cue from the Dream & Fantasy with the addition of Pixie Hollow, Andy’s Room, plus a new Mickey Mouse Club space. It is unclear if this is just a change to the Club or will parts such as Marvel’s Avengers Academy be integrated into the Lab space. Just like the Dream and Fantasy the Oceaneer Club and Lab on the Magic and Wonder are located next to each other, separated by a connecting hallway on Deck 5.
The previously rumored remodel of Parrot Cay into a Brazilian themed restaurant now has a name, Carioca’s. Carioca is defined as a native of Rio de Janeiro, and is the last name of José, one of the Three Caballeros.
Based on additions concept renderings, and some hearsay on the Fantasy last month, Topsider Buffet will reemerge from dry dock as Cabana’s.
They mysterious comment a from last week that ended with a Quack, now has some meaning. It indeed looks like Donald and his nephew’s will take over the pool deck with an AquaLab and a Nemo’s Reef like area called Nephew’s Splash Zone. In place of the AquaDuck, there will be a new water slide called Twist N’ Spout, integrated into the top decks. From the looks of the concept art posted by StichKingdom.com, the new waterside will be designed into the forward smoke stack, and like the AquaDuck, it will take riders over the port side of the ship.
Finally, the adult area of Beat Street will be re-imagined into After Hours featuring O’Gills Pub (likely in place of Diversions), a nod to The Little Mermaid with an under the sea inspired club, Fathoms, and a piano bar called Keys.
Disney Cruise Line is likely to unveil the plans for the Magic and possibly even the Wonder this Friday at the Monstrous Summer press event at Walt Disney World.
Avengers Academy!!! Oh my, I guess after our June Fantasy sailing we will be booking a future cruise on the Magic! Very nice, Disney!!!!
Wasn’t Jose from the Three Caballeros Jose Carioca? I wonder if they’ll play with that some?
Yes. The Three Caballeros are Donald Duck, José Carioca and Panchito
I wish Disney cruise had a Northeast port (i.e., Boston or NYC)!! Having to buy air makes a cruise unaffordable for many!!
