Today, the Walt Disney Company held their annual shareholders meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Unfortunately, there were no announcements pertaining to Disney Cruise Line during the 90 minute shareholder meeting.
Bob Iger kicked off the meeting by pointing out the company’s stock price had hit an all time high the previous day at %56.48 per share before highlighting the magical moments from the past year. The short list of magical moments included the opening of both Cars Land in California and New Fantasyland in Florida, as well as, the acquisition of Lucas Films this past fall. Disney Cruise Line found a way into this impressive list with the launch of the Disney Fantasy last March.
“We also launched our fourth ship, the incomparable Disney Fantasy. Which set a new standard of luxury cruising, and cruise passengers voted the Disney Fantasy the best overall large ship and best service in the World. That’s of all cruise ships, which is quite a distinction.” – Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company
Iger is clearly referencing the latest accolades from the 2013 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice Awards which are awarded based Cruise Critic member reviews.
If you would like to listen to a replay of the webcast there is a MP3 available through March 20, 2013 from The Walt Disney Company.
