The 2013 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice awards have been released, and in the large ship category the [Disney_Fantasy] was voted the best overall cruise experience. The [Disney_Dream] followed in 4th place. Over in the Mid-Size Ship group, the [Disney_Magic] ranked as 6th overall cruise experience. For a complete list of the rankings you can head over to Cruise Critic’s awards page.
It was a clean sweep for Disney Cruise Line in the Best for Families category (which is not broken out by ship size*) with the top 4 spots. However, I was a bit surprised to see the Disney Dream rank #1 for Best Shore Excursions considering she only sails to 2 ports; Nassau and Castaway Cay. The Fantasy calls on Castaway Cay once a week with a mix of Eastern and Western Caribbean ports in between.

Cruise Destinations
The awards for best ships for each cruise destination and embarkation region were not grouped by ship size, and were limited to the top 5 ships in each category. The Disney Dream was ranked as the #1 ship to sail to the Bahamas and the #1 ship to cruise from Florida. The Fantasy was the #1 ship to sail the Caribbean with the Magic following in 5th place.
Cruise Critic Methodology
The 2013 rankings are based on Cruise Critic member reviews. To be included ships must have a minimum number of posted reviews and ratings in each category to be included in the top 10 list. Click here to read Cruise Critic’s complete methodology.
Overall, Disney Cruise Line scored well with Cruise Critic members. The [Disney_Wonder] seems to be the Quasimodo of the group, but based on the methodology I would say this has to do with a lower number of member reviews than anything else.
