Hi Scott, I’m fairly new to your blog but am LOVING it and find myself checking it daily for new posts! We are taking our first cruise ever in November on the Fantasy, Eastern Caribbean. Thanks for all the info you provide. I love the Navigators! Enjoy your upcoming cruise!

Altough the cruise sounds great these dates sound rather risky. They are right in the middle of hurricane season. We took our first cruise last year in the middle of September and to be honest I never thought about what I was doing at the time I booked it (one of those duh moments). We got lucky and had perfect weather but it could have been just the oppisite. Think Fantasy/Sandy.

Lots of interesting Ports. I know flying to San Juan typically runs in the $400, but last time we took a 7 hour drive to Tampa and flew for $170 round trip. Shop around for airfare and you might find a deal with a short drive. Hurricanes in Sept can be dicey, but hurricane trends in October “typically” form and move in the Gulf of Mexico, if memory recalls, Sandy formed well west of Puerto Rico.

The Port Adventures have not been added to DCL’s site yet. For reference, they just recently added them for the new Greece ports for calls this summer. We are also sailing this itinerary and hope to have some insight in the near future.
