Key West, Florida Port Summary

Key West, a U.S. island city, is part of the Florida Keys archipelago. It's also Florida's southernmost point, lying roughly 90 miles north of Cuba. Famed for its pastel-hued, conch-style houses, it’s a cruise-ship stop also accessible from the mainland via the Overseas Highway. It’s known more for its coral reefs – destinations for diving and snorkeling – than for its beaches.

During select itineraries where the cruise visits a foreign port of call before a stop in Key West, each guest is required to present themselves along with their citizenship documentation to US Immigration officials upon arrival. Disney Cruise Line provides guests with a Key West Immigration Information letter during those itineraries.

In 2020, Key West voters passed 3 referendums placing limitations and restrictions on cruise ships. However, the State of Florida overruled them in the following legislative session. Moving forward the City of Key West held discussions while Disney Cruise Line proactively swapped previously scheduled calls to Key West with other ports or days at sea, and has not included Key West in recent itinerary announcements. The City of Key West continues to work toward addressing cruise ship tourism within their jurisdiction.
