Disney Auditions just posted three new casting call searching for character performers to fill roles specifically for Plaza de Coco, the immersive main dining restaurant coming to the Disney Treasure. The auditions are specifically searching for the roles of Miguel, Luisa, Enrique, Hector, Abuelita Elena, and Mama Imelda.
One of the audition notices describes a Plaza de Coco evening as:
Everyone is invited to the Plaza de Coco, where Miguel, along with Abuelita Elena, Enrique and Luisa Rivera, are cooking up a delicioso Mexican fiesta. Música once divided the Riveras, but now, it brings everyone together! With the strum of an enchanted guitar, Miguel transports his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, for a Dia de Muertos celebration like never before!
The in person auditions are scheduled to take place late March in Miami, Florida.

We hire versatile performers to appear as our world-famous Disney Characters for entertainment production shows, events, meet & greets and stage appearances, including the new Plaza de Coco restaurant experience on the Disney Treasure.
All performers appear as fully costumed Disney Characters. Some performers also appear as Disney Character Look-alikes and may step into ensemble dancer roles. There are multiple hiring categories pending skill sets in dance, acting and singing.
Rehearsal takes place in Toronto, Canada. Contract includes competitive pay, travel, room and board, and a significant contract completion bonus.
SEEKING:
- Performers portraying Female Roles: 4’8.5″ – 5’0.5”, 5’1″ – 5’4″, 5’5″ – 5’8″.
- Performers portraying Males Roles: 5’1″ – 5’8.5″, 5’11” – 6’4″ with slender to Athletic build.
Special casting needs who will appear in Plaza de Coco:
- Miguel: Male identifying performer. 5’1” to 5’8”. Sculpted Character work plus Restaurant Plaza de Coco. 18-30, who can play teen. Miguel inherited his great-great-grandparents’ love of music. He is a dreamer, wishing to follow his heart in singing and playing the guitar. Tenor voice range, strong acting skill, and ability to learn guitar are a plus.
- Luisa: Female identifying performer. 5’1” to 5’9”. Sculpted Character work plus Restaurant Plaza de Coco. 20s-40s. Strong Mexican dance skill/experience (Ballet Folklórico), comedic acting ability. Luisa is Miguel’s mother and loves watching her son play the guitar and sing. Comforting, sweet and kind.

Shipboard Performer Casting:
Disney Cruise Line® is auditioning Entertainment Specialty Performers for the inaugural cast of the Disney Treasure. Inspired by the Disney/Pixar animated film Coco. Actors will be Guest-facing immersive interactive roles.
- Enrique/Hector: Male identifying performer. Actor/Singer, 20s-40s, 5’9” to 6’1”. Enrique is Miguel’s father, who has worked in the family shoe shop his whole life. Hector is Miguel’s great-great-grandfather. Thanks to Miguel, he has been reunited with his daughter Coco and his wife Imelda. He wrote “Remember Me” for his daughter, Coco. Baritone/Bari-tenor, strong comedic acting skills.
- Abuelita Elena/Mama Imelda: Female identifying performer. Actor/Singer, 30s-50s, 5’4” to 5’9”. Elena is Coco’s daughter and grandmother to Miguel. She is strong and extremely protective of her family. Imelda is Miguel’s great-great-grandmother, Hector’s wife. She started the family shoe business. She loves music but is quite stubborn. Family comes first for both characters! Alto or Mezzo, strong comedic acting skills.
