Silver Anniversary at Sea: New Fireworks Show and Castaway Club Gift

Today, Disney Cruise Line announced a brand new fireworks show and revealed a new Castaway Club gift for guests embarking on a Silver Anniversary at Sea cruise this summer.

DCL Silver Anniversary Fleet

Silver Anniversary at Sea Fireworks Show

Disney Cruise Line made history as the first cruise line ever to produce a fireworks show at sea! In the 25 years since, fireworks have remained a part of the majority of voyages across the fleet with some exceptions based on seasonal deployment such as Alaska.

Disney Magic Pirate Night Fireworks

For select Silver Anniversary at Sea voyages, the night sky will shine even brighter this summer with a shimmering new fireworks display.

Created in honor of Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary, the limited-time evening extravaganza will uphold the cherished Disney tradition of fireworks and honor Disney’s continuing legacy of adventure. The dazzling spectacle will be set to the tunes of iconic and beloved Disney music, and anchoring the show will be a brand-new signature song created especially for the “Silver Anniversary at Sea.”

The 25th anniversary fireworks show will be featured on most Bahamian, Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises this summer. According to the 25th Anniversary page on DCL’s website, there will be 2 nights of fireworks!

In addition to Pirate Night, we’re adding a second magical night of fireworks at sea to most Bahamian, Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises this summer.

Say “Cheers” During a Shimmering Soiree

A captain’s reception is a well-known cruising tradition that has been enjoyed by Disney Cruise Line guests since the very beginning. In honor of our “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” Disney Cruise Line is reimagining this time-honored event into a one-of-a-kind celebratory experience, adding an extra dose of magic to sailings this summer.

On one evening each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain and cruise director in the atrium (or Grand Hall for those sailing on the Disney Wish) for an anniversary toast. The festive affair will feature appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse — dressed for the occasion in their shimmering new looks, of course! — and a delightful rendition of the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” theme song.

Celebrate with A Limited-Edition Castaway Club Gift

All Castaway Club members who sail during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” this summer will receive a limited-edition framed art print in their stateroom to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime celebration until supplies last.

As shown above, this design was created by Disney artist Joe Kaminski, whose work is featured in The Art of Disney galleries, Disney resort hotels and Disney Cruise Line ships. (One 11×14 framed print will be delivered per stateroom.)

A list of Silver Anniversary at Sea sailings for each Disney Cruise Line ship can be found on this page.

One per stateroom?? What if two Pearl guests from different families and different states are in one stateroom? Never could understand that.

Scott, any idea if this firework display will replace Pirate night or will there be two nights of fireworks? Thanks!

Does anyone know if Mickey and Minnie will also be wearing their traditional captain outfits as well? Love the new outfits but really hoping we get to see them in their traditional outfits too. We would actually be sad not to see them in the costumes we know and love at least at some point during the duration of the cruise.

Hi, This is off topic, but can anyone tell me if it is normal for the charge to show up on the Disney App when you make reservations at Palo even if you are Platinum. We have eaten there many times, but always made our reservations on the ship once we saw our dining room rotation. This time we just went ahead and and reserved while still here at home via the App. Thanks for the info.

Two comments: sad that the Silver Anniversary celebration is for such a short time when the parks got 18 months. And wondering if this is a precursor to updating the Pirates fireworks. It seems like time for a new theme.

Really hoping they not only stick to the one per stateroom on the print AND they make people sign to verify they received it. They know how many sailings and how many staterooms they have for the time – they should not run out before the end of the celebration.
