Could be magical from auckland as ship would have to fly to follow above map, as cruise terminal on other side of island….disney magic

As I heard somebody else mention, these are obviously meant for Australia residents to take as I don’t know anybody from the US that would pay that kind of money to fly all the way down there and go on one of these cruises that only makes 1 or 2 port stops (even the 6 night only makes 2 port stops), these itineraries are terrible. Only ones worth looking at would be the repositioning cruises and they don’t make any stops in New Zealand or Australia (except when they actually get to or leave from Sydney). Think DCL could have done better with these. Glad I already had other DCL cruises booked for 2023.

but it is ok to fly to the US for only 2-7 night voyages?

You may easily find the decision was too late and other ports of call were taken.

I have been told that these cruises are like the UK cruises last year and all are cruises to nowhere. While there are ports listed, they are tactical ports for refueling, etc. and not ports of call for guests.

That is honestly super disappointing. No longer cruise around Australia or NZ, only super short trips. How the hell id doing a 2 night?

It didn’t take us long to realize these are not worth the airfare and pre-cruise over night and post cruise over night stays. I agree the reposition itineraries are a better choice, and even those prices are a little high. Just focusing on the repositions at this point.

With the New Zealand dollar at 0.56 and the Australian dollar at 0.64 to the US dollar, I don’t think that the “locals” will be able to pay DCL the expensive cruise fares that Disney will demand! And Americans are not going to fly that far for a short cruise!?

Hi Ed, as an Australian I have booked and previously sailed DCL in the US. It’s cheaper for us to sail here (even in the Aus school holidays and around Xmas) than it is to fly over to the US and get on it. Disney fans will go if they understand the quality of these beautiful ships , it’s the first time or non cruises that will be complaining

I would not be surprised if these cruises are meant to gauge local interest in the Disney brand, so that Disney can determine if building a property in the region might be a good idea.

The same goes for the Singapore sailings in 2025 – in fact, in the 1990’s Disney had a plan to build a property in Singapore, but it got scrapped, probably because of the Disneyland Paris fiasco – the same fate that befell a lot of 1990’s Disney projects.
