When we were on our recent B2B cruises on the WONDER. We pre registered on Safe Passage and were tested inside the San Diego cruise terminal and waited inside the normal DCL waiting area for our test results to allow us to continue on to boarding the ship after passing though security check on the 4 day Catalina cruise. All the time in the terminal, we had to wear a mask until we set foot on the deck of the ship. The process was slightly different for the B2B Cabo cruise. There were two Holland America ships on each side of the WONDER in San Diego harbor. We waited on the ship as usual for B2Bs and were escorted off the ship. We waited in a tent structure for all of us to go across the street to the Wyndam hotel to get tested in the Pacific Ball Room. Testing process was the same nose swab and we had to wait in an area next to testing site. Once we were cleared for boarding, they told us you now have 15 minutes to get back to the inside of the cruise terminal. The issued purple wrist bands to us at 11:49am and the cut off time was written (11:04) on the band. We had to wait at the crosswalk the longest time but we were in the terminal 11:59am. If you came in at 11:05, you had to go back to the test site to retest. They were most adamant about that policy, but I know of no one who had to retest. Then it was just as before any other cruise, wait for our Ok to board early and head to the pool or our stateroom.
The Vancouver address is not what is showing on the Safe Passage website. I’m still confused.
As of this morning (4/14) the address is still the same on DCL’s website. I do not have access to view the Safe Passage website to see the Vancouver site details.
The one for Waikiki says it is open 1 day before sailing with the date 5/4/22 in parentheses. The DCL ship departs Honolulu on 5/6/22.
And–is that site meant to replace the Covid test for boarding, instead of just testing at the port like in Port Canaveral?
Still showing this morning on Safe Passage:
VANCOUVER TESTING LOCATION
Fairmont Waterfront Hotel
Mackenzie Ballroom (Concourse Level)
900 Canada Place
Vancouver, BC V6C 3L5
Unfortunately my appointment email does not give a location.
Must we use this site or will any Antigen negative test result suffice, like what is required when flying from Canada to the US?
This doesn’t make sense … 1 day before sailing is 5th May not 4th May?
As of April 16th, this is still how it is worded on DCL’s website. I am simply passing along the information.
