Disney Cruise Line Removes St. Petersburg, Russia From Disney Magic Summer Itineraries

Today, Disney Cruise Line removed St. Petersburg, Russia from the two Disney Magic sailings during which the ship was scheduled to make stops this summer – including one which would have been an overnight stay.

However, at this time Disney Cruise Line is still in discussions with ports in other countries and will share updated itineraries later this month.

  • Saturday July 30, 2022 11-Night Northern Europe Cruise from Dover to Copenhagen originally had an overnight in St. Petersburg on August 4th and 5th.
  • Wednesday August 10, 2022 7-Night Northern Europe Cruise from Copenhagen originally had the Magic in St. Petersburg on August 13th.

For now, I am changing the port day to a day at sea until a revised itinerary is announced.

Emails are being sent to guest booked on the aforementioned sailings.

Dear

We are writing with important information regarding your Northern European sailing aboard the Disney Magic on [July 30, 2022 or August 10, 2022].

We have made the decision to modify your sailing’s itinerary and plan to visit an alternate port instead of St. Petersburg, Russia. We are currently in discussions with ports in other countries and will be reaching out to you again later this month with an updated itinerary.

The health, safety and security of our guests and crew remains a top priority for Disney Cruise Line. Should you have questions about your sailing, please contact your travel agent.

We look forward to providing you with an enjoyable cruise experience later this year.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew
Disney Cruise Line

This is good news as I would not have wanted to be anywhere near Russia with what is happening in Ukraine. While I have always had a desire to visit the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg for the history. Not now as it is scary and who knows what the Russian Govt would handle cruise ship passengers??
