The curtain is set to drop on Brandon, Nichole, and Kayla as Disney Cruise Line has announced Frozen, A Musical Spectacular is scheduled to replace the production this fall.
The heartwarming tale of two sisters based on the major hit film showcases the adventures of Anna and Elsa as they discover the meaning of sisterhood, inner strength and true love. This Broadway-style spectacular, debuted aboard the Disney Wonder during the November 10, 2016 4-Night Western Caribbean Cruise.
Frozen, A Musical Spectacular will be joined by Disney’s Believe, and the recently re-imagined version of Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular which relaunched the same week as the live-action film hit theaters. Disney Wishes originally launched with the Disney Fantasy in March of 2012.
The Disney Parks Blog announcement mentions October 26, 2019, but it is not clear if that is the day the show will be performed durning the final night of the 8-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise, or if the date was picked because it was a Saturday – the Fantasy’s normal departure day. In that case, it would then debut during the October 27th 6-night Western Caribbean cruise which sails from Port Canaveral a rare Sunday departure.
- Saturday October 19, 2019 🎃 – 8-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral
- Sunday October 27, 2019 🎃 – 6-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral
I am hoping to get some clarification on this date from Disney Cruise Line and will update this post accordingly.
What are your thoughts on the Frozen, A Musical Spectacular replacing Disney Wishes on the Fantasy? For me, the biggest loss besides unique productions, is the loss of the Pinocchio number.
Aww this is bittersweet for me. I really liked Disney Wishes, but I can’t wait to see Frozen!!
Frozen is my absolute favorite show on any of the ships, but I’m not fond of the double up of one of the premier shows. Each ship should each uniquely have one of those shows.
agreed, I wish they would have a different show than the Wonder
Another one who thinks each ship should have their own shows. Frozen works better on the Wonder with the Alaska sailings.
I hope they show it on the * night cruise. we are going to be on it.
Do we know when the last showing of Wishes will occur?
No.
I love it! Scott, where did you see this news? I can’t find it anywhere.
Ignore my question. Duh, I just noticed you put the link in the story. LOL
I’m so excited – the way the blog post reads, I am convinced they mean it will start 10/26 – which makes sense as that’s the last night of the 8 Night Eastern. Of course, nothing is ever guaranteed, but it’s still something to look forward to. Definitely excited to see a new show on the Fantasy!
i hope so
Just saw Frozen on the Wonder- not a fan at all! Will skip it on the Fantasy for sure.
Well I guess we will be skipping one show on our next Fantasy cruise, not a Frozen fan.
Let’s keep in mind that Frozen 2 is set to be released later this year – could it be that the version on the Wonder would eventually be refreshed with the Fantasy showing the original.. at least for a while…?
Sad. Wishes was my girls’ favorite show & couldn’t agree more about the Pinocchio number! Prob my favorite number of all the shows on all the ships 😢
CONFIRMED!!
We are booked on the Saturday October 19, 2019 🎃 – 8-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral.
Our agent states that on the last night, October 26th, “Frozen” will debut on the Fantasy.
We are sailing on the Fantasy for a rare three night cruise September 2020. Does that mean we will see both Alladin and Frozen, as well as Believe?
That should be the lineup of shows once Frozen replaces Wishes.
We are going on the Wonder, 7 night Mexico in March 2020 and Frozen is the big show. Has anyone seen this show and know which night it will be performed?
Christy, Based on historical navigators for that itinerary, Frozen was performed on the 6th night in May and October 2019. The schedule is always subject to change. You can try calling DCL to see if they have a tentative show schedule for your sailing.
