Disney Cruise Line quietly added Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea to all of the summer sailings aboard the Disney Fantasy between June 1st and August 31st. This means the following 3, 6, 8 and 11-night sailings will now include Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea.
Current scheduling indicates the party will primary be held on port days to avoid disrupting a busy pool day during a sea day. A show time is not known, however I suspect, the parties will occur after all aboard time for the respective port calls. The scheduled party dates for each itinerary are as follows:
- 7-night Western itinerary: Tuesday – Grand Cayman
- 7-night Eastern itinerary: Wednesday – St Thomas
- 8-night Eastern: Thursday – St Thomas
- 6-night Western: Tuesday – Cozumel
- 11-night Southern: Monday – Sea
- 3-night Bahamian: Friday – Castaway Cay
Originally when the part at sea was announced, Disney Cruise Line initially confirmed “It is only on the 7-night sailings. It would not include the 3, 6, 8 and 11-night sailings“.
Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea is a limited-time event to celebrate their 90th birthdays, yes birthdays. Minnie turned 90 on the same day as Mickey. Since their big-screen debut in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928, Mickey has been the global ambassador for The Walt Disney Company. From the beloved Mickey Mouse Club to today’s Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts, Mickey’s optimistic outlook and endearing personality continue to delight fans around the world every day.
The worldwide anniversary party celebrating Mickey, the true original is spanning the globe, from Orlando to Anaheim, Paris to Shanghai, Tokyo to Hong Kong, and the high seas.

The afternoon deck party kicks off with Mickey, Minnie and pals dressed in their festive best and features new music and an array of special surprises. Mickey ice cream bar and refreshing nonalcoholic specialty drink served in a commemorative cup will be available. It is not 100% clear, but I expect the specialty drink will be an extra charge.
In addition to the deck party, the 90th-Anniversary celebration continues with more limited-time onboard offerings such as stateroom surprises including an invitation and party hats. Animated shorts will play on Funnel Vision and additional themed treats will be available.
Exclusive limited-time merchandise, YES! There will indeed be a selection of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea commemorative merchandise available for purchase from T-shirts, a Souvenir cup, and even stateroom door magnets.
YES! So happy! I was looking forward to this party & then it wasn’t scheduled for the 11 night Southern. I did in fact write Disney Cruise Line & I believe others did also, way to go DCL. You made this sailing for our family even that much more special…..ALL ABOARD, very happy cruisers. Thanks so much Scott for the update.
I was hoping all of the ships would get the celebration in some form. 🙁
Does the surprise party at sea replace the pirate’s night (7 nights on the Fantasy(, or do we get to enjoy both?
To my knowledge this will not impact scheduled Pirate Night activities.
