This sailing will not impact any guest bookings as DCL never offered the original 8/26 for sale when the Summer 2017 itineraries were released in April.
Ugghh, I knew it… this is the one I tried to book when summer itineraries opened back in April and was told this week was not available but wasn’t told why. It’s the cheapest time of the year before the kiddos get back to school but oh well – so we’re going the week before.
It’s good to see DCL wised up and didn’t release the DVC cruise on opening day causing havoc with people’s reservations when DCL converted a cruise to a DVC cruise.
Wendy, DCL has been much better dealing with private charters by setting them up before the itinerary announcements.
Waving the requirement for use of DVC points to book a cruise is a huge plus. Using DVC points to book a Disney cruise is never cost effective.
Hi, just curious why you say that it’s not cost effective to use points? I understand that the cash value of the cruise might be cheaper than what you pay yearly for points but why wouldn’t you use your points, to go somewhere else the other years where you aren’t needing to bank or borrow? Just trying to understand which is better since we always use our points. Thanks!!
Scott,
You have mentioned that it has been easy for you to change from Late Dining to Main Dining. We are in late dining for a 7 night cruise in December. We also would like to request a private table AND want to switch to main dining. What are the odds of getting both requests if we are first in line at 1pm to make dining requests?
Thanks! Love the blog & podcast
Cassie,
If it is really important then make sure you are on the main dining wait list by calling DCL or asking your TA to do it for you. If the waitlist request does not come through check the embarkation day navigator for the location on the ship and arrive early to increase your odds of getting main dining. Good luck.
We are less than 60 days away from the August 26th DVC Cruise. We are first time cruisers. Where can I find more information on this cruise? Shows, schedules events and so on. What do I need to know before boarding the ship? Any and all tips and suggestions welcomed.
I would check daily navigators for a recent Eastern cruise should be very similar concerning shows and other things. special events will be secret until you get on board. Get to the port as early as possible, you want to get on the ship as early as you possibly can. The party starts immediately. Enjoy!
