Disney Cruise Line recently updated their website with the specific sail dates for the 2016 Halloween on the High Seas cruises. Halloween will begin on the Disney Dream September 2, 2016, the next day it will debut on the Disney Fantasy and almost a month later on the Disney Magic (October 2nd). At this time the Disney Wonder does not have any dates listed due to her extended re-imagination dry dock scheduled for this fall.
Set sail for a spooky jubilee packed with haunted tricks and fun-filled treats for everyone in the family.
Halloween on the High Seas is a spook-tacular experience available on most itineraries departing late September through Halloween. Thrills and chills await you at every turn, thanks to not-so-scary parties, eerie entertainment and bewitching décor—including an evolving Halloween Tree that eerily transforms throughout your cruise.
Unearth some festive entertainment that awaits you during this ghoulish cruise:
- Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party, a celebration with games, dancing and lots of candy! Beloved Disney characters, wearing special Halloween costumes just for the occasion, will join guests for this fun-filled costume party.
- A Nightmare Before Christmas—Sing and Scream, an interactive movie experience where guests are part of the action, followed by a meet-and-greet with Jack Skellington and Sally.
- Haunted Stories of the Sea, where the bravest cruisers gather under the stars to hear some true—or not so true—tales of the sea told by a mysterious sea captain storyteller.
- Creepy Cabaret, Halloween-themed music performed live in the atrium by a band of ghostly musicians.
- Halloween Isn’t Just For Kids: For adults, the nighttime entertainment district becomes the ghoulish setting for a costume contest and a Villainous Takeover on the dance floor.
- Spooky Movies: To get guests into the spirit of the season, Halloween-themed movies will be shown on Funnel Vision by the family pool and in staterooms.
- Ghoulish Delights: Disney Cruise Line chefs have conjured some very special treats for Halloween, including chocolate cake with pumpkin filling, spider cakes and “Spooky Juice.”
- More spooky fun includes mask-making and a ghostly takeover of ship announcements!
And even more spooky surprises await you onboard! Be sure to pack your favorite costumes and get ready for happy haunts.

A note about the Disney Wonder. The Disney Wonder will be undergoing a major dry dock refurbishment during the fall and will not take part of this years Halloween on the High Seas voyages.
For more details check out DCL’s dedicated Halloween on the High Seas webpage. Last, but not least, I did check, the dates for the Very MerryTime Cruises have not been revealed on Disney’s website.
Sure wish they would announce 2017 summer….
Me too. I have a future cruise saved for that time as a graduation gift to my son.
Thanks for the information.
I did the three day one on the Dream a couple of years ago. Great fun. So many guests had amazing costumes too!
I’ll be cruising for the first time with DCL in September on the Dream and i’m not sure what to expect or what to bring for Halloween on the high seas. Any links with more info? Thanks
We’ve been on a few of the halloween cruises. There are plenty of navigators available on the site with Halloween specific events. Easiest way to find those is to use this link. I updated the post with some of the offering DCL is currently advertising on their website.
Thanks but shame they can’t have done it a bit earlier as on the transatlantic on the Magic and if I remember the last time they started putting the pumpkin transfers on the portholes and rehearsing. Happy for all that are getting some Halloween fun x
Is there a Halloween meet and greet with Mickey,Minnie,Pluto etc similar to the princess gathering? If so how do you get tickets?
As far as I know the Halloween outfit meet and greets are a regular character line, not one that requires tickets. This could always change.
Will the Halloween night replace the Pirate night or do you still do both?
I cannot speak for the 2016 voyages, but pirate night was still a thing on our 2015 Halloween cruise.
we made reservations at remy but don’t want to miss the mousqerade or halloween dress up with our kids. how do we know what night they schedule the halloween events
Ashley, It depends on your specific itinerary. You should be able to get the schedule by calling DCL. Let them know you want to eat at Remy, but you do not want to miss specific Halloween events. Hopefully, they can help you out. You can look at previous navigators to get an idea on when these events were held last year, but that does not necessarily mean they will be the same this fall.
