TCM Classic Cruise 2016 to Set Sail on the Disney Fantasy in November

TCM Classic Cruise Poster Fantasy 2016

Last week, TCM announced the 2016 TCM Classic Cruise will be held aboard the Disney Fantasy from November 12 – 19, 2016. The TCM Classic Cruise will embark from Port Canaveral, with exotic new ports of call, for the TCM cruise, including San Juan, St. Maarten and returning once again to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

TCM chartered the Disney Fantasy for this event, therefore Disney Cruise Line is not in charge of booking. As of now, TCM is inviting anyone interested in this cruise to register for the pre-sale to get priority over the general public. Bookings will open to the general public on March 11, 2016. Registering for the pre-sale does not obligate you to any payment, it simply gives you the chance to book before the general public. For details on how to pre-register please visit TCM’s official website for the 2016 TCM Classic Cruise at http://www.tcmcruise.com. Additionally, you can find pricing information here.

The 2016 TCM Classic Cruise promises to bring TCM hosts, special guests and fellow movie lovers together to watch films and speak with the actors and talent who made them. Guests will hear behind the scenes stories and enjoy special presentations with fellow movie fans. There will be multiple TCM-themed events and activities throughout the each day of the cruise. TCM call this a classic movie paradise at sea. According to the information provided from TCM, special guests will be announced at a later date.

As previously mentioned, the 2016 TCM Classic Cruise will sail from Port Canaveral with stops in San Juan, St. Maarten and Castaway Cay. The most populous city in Puerto Rico, San Juan offers a rich history as well as incredible natural attractions. In St. Maarten, visitors have a chance to experience two rich cultures (France and the Netherlands) as well as the island’s host of idyllic recreational and relaxation opportunities. Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island paradise, offering beautiful beaches and a wide array of tropical leisure activities.

The 2016 TCM Classic Cruise itinerary is the same 7-Night Eastern Caribbean – Itinerary C the Disney Fantasy sailed in 2014 and 2015. While things have changed and the TCM Classic Cruises have their own unique events, there are copies of the Personal Navigators for this itinerary available for review.

TCM’s announcement confirms our initial speculation and provides closure on why the November 12th Disney Fantasy sailing was not available to book.

I’m sorry for all who had this cruise scheduled with Disney and now have to change all your plans because someone bought out this cruise. This happened to us in 2014. We were very excited about the cruise we chose and then got a call that we had to change it. Couldn’t get the same ports, ship or amount of days. Sure we still had a great time but very disappointing.

Because we were booked with Disney and TCM bought out the whole ship so we had to pick another Cruise with Disney. If you want this cruise, you have to book with TCM.

So you chose to rebook at a different time. You could have rebooked the same cruise albeit through TCM. I wonder if the TCM cruise on DCL has the characters and Disney shows, or if it is all TCM?

We “chose” to go on a Disney Cruise, as we had originally booked. We “chose” not to sail with a classic movie company when we had planned a Disney cruise. We “chose” to not pay more for this cruise, in 2014 for something we didn’t want. No one was offered to just stay on this cruise, we would have had to cancel Disney and completely rebook with TCM. Sounds like this year it was not done this same way. Glad they figured it out.

Hannah, This sail date on the Fantasy was never offered by DCL. When the fall itineraries were released this sailing was not included. It was not listed on their website and if you called (depending on the agent you spoke with) they would tell you it was marked not to sell.

Thanks…that makes me feel better. It was very sad for all the people that had made plans and had to change them, in the past years. Maybe that’s why they now did it this way. I appreciate the info.

It’s my understanding that there is nothing from the usual Disney cruises on a TCM sailing. No pirate night, no character meet and greets.

Turner Classic Movie Cruise…for those who are hooked on the classic movies with famous celebrities…last year it was Louis Gossett Jr., Eva Marie Saint, Alec Trebek from Jeopardy and several others…movies and guest conversations with the hosts Robert Osbourne and Ben Mankewicz..

I’d love to do this cruise one day. But if people think a regular Disney cruise is expensive, this will floor you. And it sells out fast, to boot!

I have gone on 4 of the TCM cruises and am booked on the 12-19 Nov cruise as well. I have been looking at prices for other Disney cruises on the Fantasy for the same itinerary and days. It is no more expensive than the regular Disney cruise. So someone one got their info wrong if they told you TCM is more expensive.

I’ve been cruising with DCL for several years. This cruise is *significantly* more expensive than a regular cruise on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. As a point of reference, we are booked on the cruise 2 weeks after this one, in Concierge. Our Concierge room was less than a 4E for two people on this cruise. Our 4E last year was $3500 less for two people than a 4E for two on the TCM cruise. The cruise immediately following the TCM cruise (for the week of Thanksgiving, which is typically a higher-priced cruise) is $5135.62 + tips, for a 4E, two passengers, while the TCM cruise is $7820 with tips (which are not even within the same stratosphere as the almost $2700 difference) for a double.

          The difference is *ludicrous*.

Based on the Star Wars sailings I’m having a hard time believing special guests and hosts will be aboard. I know TCM is hosting the cruise and not Disney, but still.

Jako, I have gone on 4 TCM cruises, and am going in November. I absolutely love this cruise. Stars have included Eva Marie Saint, Bob Wagner, Mickey Rooney, Debbie Reynolds, Angie Dickenson, Ernest Borgnine, Alex Trebek conducts film trivia games, and last year also did some of the interviews with stars. If you like the classic movies, you would love this cruise.

We have gone on all the previous TCM cruises, and are booked on this one as well. We have always had a great time. This cruise is just for classic movie fans, with trivia games, movie showings, and interviews with the stars. The interviews are more candid than you will see on TV. True, there are no Disney character meet and greets, but we don’t expect them. Most of the passengers on this cruise are older adults, which means it will be quieter than a regular Disney cruise. Well worth the price!

I’d love to go on this cruise but since I got laid off and still haven’t found a new job looks like no way I will be able to

Very few kids come on the cruise, since they don’t have very many Disney activities–just a few characters walking around and Disney movies on tv. I think the Disney kids’ clubs are open, though–not positive on that.
