Disney Magic VoluntEARS Stuff Backpacks in Support of Brevard County Schools

On Thursday February 25, 2016, a group of Disney VoluntEARS comprised of crew members from the Disney Magic volunteered to help stuff backpacks full of school supplies at the Supply Zone for Teachers – a service of Brevard Schools Foundation that provides free school supplies to teachers and students of the most economically vulnerable areas in Brevard County.

The backpacks will be donated to teachers of disadvantaged students in Brevard County – where many students do not come to school with even basic school supplies – fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring that adequate resources reach these students.

The Disney Magic spent the day in Port Canaveral on Thursday following a 4-night sailing and embarked in the late afternoon on a 3-night Bahamian cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Great service. I wish Disney Cruise Lines would sponsor something similar in the ports where they stop. My family would love to be part of a program like that. Vacation and volunteering together!
