During these sailings, passengers will get to experience an extra dose of holiday cheer at Castaway Cay. A winter wonderland awaits guests at Disney’s private island paradise which is magically transformed with “snow” flurries, a Christmas tree and more. Be on the lookout for Mr. and Mrs. Snowman, dressed in their island attire.
Plus, the island’s tram is decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and a tail!
Back onboard the ships, guests will discover a festive fusion of holiday-themed entertainment, activities and décor—with a life-sized gingerbread house, 24-foot Christmas tree, garlands, poinsettias, shimmering lights and more!
The life-sized Gingerbread House will be constructed in November, and will not be available on early November sailings. It should be completed and ready for viewing in the last week of November according to a note on DCL’s website.
Deck the Deck Tropical Holiday Party, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa Claus meet-and-greet, Meet-and-Greets with some favorite Disney Characters, dressed in their holiday attire, Teen-only and tween-only holiday parties, Holiday storytelling, themed activities and crafts for kids and the opportunity to make your own gingerbread house. Finally, holiday themed merchandise will be available during these cruises.
On December 24 and 25, passengers will have some additional holiday experiences such as cookies on Christmas Eve, special holiday towel animals, a special holiday surprise, holiday caroling with the kids and crew and religious Services.
2015 Thanksgiving Disney Cruises
Enjoy your most relaxing Thanksgiving yet with Disney Cruise Line! On Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015 the Disney ships will feature an array of Thanksgiving festivities, including a traditional turkey dinner, Disney Characters in holiday-themed costumes, special football offerings, holiday décor, including Thanksgiving towel animals. This is in addition to all the magical merriment offered on Very Merrytime Cruise activities. In 2014, there was a special Thanksgiving menu in the rotational dining rooms.
2015 New Year’s Eve Disney Cruises
Ring in the New Year with Disney Cruise Line! If you’re traveling on a Disney ship on December 31, 2015 you can experience a magical beginning to the New Year with music, dancing, food and fun for every age.
New Year’s Eve festivities include a special New Year’s Eve dinner menu, New Year’s Eve deck party, Holiday-themed giveaways, Meet-and-Greets with some favorite Disney Characters, dressed in their holiday attire, Teen-only and tween-only holiday parties.
Best of all, you can start the New Year with a fresh perspective as you sail from one enchanting port of call to the next, enjoying Disney entertainment, exhilarating activities and spectacular seascapes along the way.
It should be noted that these sailings, activities and offerings are subject to change and may vary by ship and itinerary. Additionally, the dates are still TBD on Disney Cruise Line’s official webpage for the Very MerryTime Cruises. I suspect this is to generate a buzz and spark booking when an official announcement is made, presumably on the Disney Parks Blog.
Special thanks to Travel on a Dream for passing along the sail dates for each ship.
We are looking for copies of last year’s Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinner menus to add to site. If you have pictures, or know someone who might we’d love to add them to the menu page.
Scott,
Great info! We are on a Thanksgiving cruise. We have done Easter and Halloween, but this is our first Thanksgiving! Great to see it will be a Christmas cruise as well! BONUS FOR US!!
Any idea of what the “Special football offerings” is? My 13 year old and my husband are football fanatics. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
I am on the December 28th sailing onboard the Dream. It is not listed as a Christmas cruise and we disembark on December 31st, so not a New Years Eve cruise either. Will Disney be doing anything special for cruises that fall in between Christmas and NYE? Thanks.
Lisa, I would suggest calling DCL to inquire about any special activities during your cruise. As you mentioned, it is not listed as a Very MerryTime Cruise and ends before NYE.
Do you know when the 2016 Very Merry Time cruise dates will be released?
No, I do not know when they will be announced.
2016 dates are on Disney’s site now https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/cruises-destinations/overview/seasonal-specialty-cruises/
Thanks!
