Have I missed my chance for a FL resident rate for November Bahamas Cruise out of Miami? Keep waiting for cheaper fall Bahamas cruises. Where are they?
Kathy, November rates, if offered, will not likely show up until the fall. The FLR rates are typically only offered closer to the sail date. The one exception has been the Southern Caribbean sailings that have been available.
QUESTION – Does military discount include a veteran who served but did not retire from the military? In other words, he served 6-year Navy, but did not retire from it.
Cathy,
Great question. I am not sure about this, but I will ask around.
My father-in-law is a former Marine and I checked on this for a cruise we took last year. You have to have served a full career and retired from the military to get the discount.
Brian, thank you for taking the time to answer Cathy’s question.
Per Disney Cruise Line:
Special Military rates are available to all active duty and retired U.S. military personnel (or their spouse*), including U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, U.S Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. National Guard, U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Department of Defense personnel. Active and retired members (or spouse) of the U.S. military must provide valid identification at time of check-in. This offer is limited to a maximum of 1 stateroom per military member (or spouse), per sailing. Activated members (or spouse) of the U.S. National Guard or the U.S. Army Reserve must also show active duty orders (active duty papers must be dated as of January 1st of the previous year to qualify).
*Active duty or retired military personnel and 100% permanently disabled veterans do not have to travel as long as their spouse has a valid military ID.
Long version of saying that just serving doesn’t qualify unless they are still Active Reserve.
Do you know if they usually offer a Florida discount on cruises the week before Thanksgiving?
Brooke,
I looked at some of last years offers and it appeared the offers stopped just around that time and resumed for sailings following the holiday.
Thanks!
