The inaugural Bon Voyage Awards from CruiseLine.com’s online magazine, were announced today. Disney Cruise Line took home many top honors including Best Mainstream Line. While DCL may be a little pricer than some of the competitions, the review panel felt the upgrades in service and cabins make all the difference. Disney Cruise Line was also named the Best for Multigenerational Families by offering exclusive spaces for both the kids and adults. Crystal Cruises topped the list for Best Service with Seaborurn Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line rounding out the top three.
The honor of Best Mainstream Cabins went to DCL for their split bathroom designs featured in most staterooms as well as the privacy shade separating between the bed and the sitting area.
The Best Onboard Daytime Activities honors went to Royal Caribbean, while DCL earned third place with the help of their upper deck features for all ages, the around continuous character meet and greet opportunities and the Midship Detective agency on the Dream class ships.
Disney Cruise Line did however, make the top of the list for Best Onboard Evening Activities with the various Broadway caliber stage shows in the Walt Disney Theatre, the first run movies playing in the Buena Vista Theatre, and the ever popular Pirate Night capped off with fireworks.
Royal Caribbean topped Disney Cruise Line in the Best Water Parks category. I cannot compare, but I’d be happy to spend the day riding the AquaDunk, and watching a classic Disney Movie on Funnel Vision in between dips in the pool.
Disney Cruise Line earned the top spots in the Best Services for Children under Three and Best Services for Children Ages 3-12. The nursery provides an excellent opportunity for adults to getaway for a romantic dinner at either Palo or Remy while the little ones are looked after by trained crew members.
The Oceaneer Lab and Oceaneer Club offer young guests unique spaces to explore and meet new friends.
Finishing up the youth programing, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line edged out Disney in the Best Services for Teens category.
