Disney Cruise Line revealed the treatments and services that will be offered by Senses Spa & Salon aboard the re-imagined Disney Magic beginning October 20, 2013.  The Senses Spa & Salon will remain in the same location, Deck 9 Forward, as the previous Vista Spa & Salon.  During the renovation the space will be expanded by 700 square feet (from 10,700 to 11,400 square feet.)  Senses Spa & Salon will be comprised of Senses Salon, Senses Spa, Sense Spa Villa, Smile Spa, Barber shop, and the teen only Chill Spa.  The blissful, adults only (except for the Chill Spa) retreat promises to offer therapeutic and beautifying services for both men and women alike from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Over the past few months we have been teased with renderings for Senses Spa & Salon and a short video highlighting some of the marquee offerings.   Today, we learn that Senses Spa & Salon will offer amenities that you would expect to find in a spa such as showers, lockers, separate changing rooms for men and women, massage rooms, a sauna, and slippers and robes to wear during your treatment.  Let us take a look at the treatments and services that Disney Cruise Line just added to their website starting with the teen only space in Senses Spa & Salon, the Chill Spa.

Chill Spa

The Chill Spa, inside Senses Spa & Salon, on the Disney Magic has been designed for teenagers (13-17 years of age).  The Chill Spa will offer teens a variety of treatments and pampering services in a tranquil oasis at sea.

Facials

• Fabulously Fruity Facial $94 – This fruity facial uses an organic mixture of fresh fruits. Combined with the power of touch, this facial is deep cleansing, moisturising and nourishing and quite literally a tasty treat for your skin. (5o minutes)
• Acne Attach Facial $94 – Kiss your pimple-popping days goodbye. If skin blemishes and spots are giving you a problem, we will help you blast them away with our revolutionary oxygen facial. (50 minutes)

Massages

• Heavenly Massage $89 – Stressed out? Try the unbelievable heavenly full body massage. A professional therapist will use aromatherapy oils and Swedish massage techniques to banish all that stress. (50 minutes)
• Mother/Daughter Paradise Massage – Half Body $99 or Full Body $195 – Learn the art of indulgence from mom with this gorgeously relaxing treatment. Be pampered together as you enjoy a massage side by side. (25 or 50 minutes)
• Father/Son Chill Out Massage – Half Body $99 or Full Body $195 – After shooting some hoops on deck, chill out together by enjoying an invigorating massage. With all that hard work you deserve it. (25 or 50 minutes)

• Hot Chocolate Wrap $141 – Zero calories, but absolutely delicious, chocolate which is full of anti-oxidants is poured onto your skin before you are cocooned in a warm, comforting wrap. If that wasn’t sweet enough, we will also treat your muscles to a soothing massage to keep the mood relaxed and chill. (50 minutes)
• Tantastic Body Bronzer $92 – Get a rich, natural, colden tan without the worries of sun-induced skin damage. Start by exfoliating your skin until it is silky smooth and then a St. Tropez’s paraben-free, Aloe Vera based formula which soothes, hydrates and nourishes the skin while evoking a natural sun-kissed glow will be applied. (50 minutes)

• Fitness Frenzy $55 – Enjoy 3 specialised boot camp classes this cruise and receive personalised metabolism test to see how much you can indulge without unwanted bulge!
• Styling Session $107 – If you are looking to change things up, try a funky cut after a personalized consultation with a stylist. (60 minutes)
• Truth or Hair $32 – Whether you prefer a trendy or traditional hairstyle, the salon professionals know how important it is to sport your favorite do, so swing by the salon and let them work their magic. (30 minutes)
• Me! Bath Ice Cream Manicure $45 – We all scream for ice cream! The delicious Me! Bath manicure uses an ice cream shaped bath product and other yummy ingredients to give your hands a sweet treat while you sit back and relax. You get to choose which soaking ice cream scoop to use in your treatment. and your favorite color of nail polish. (25 minutes)
• Me! Bath Ice Cream Pedicure $65 – Here’s the scoop. This treatment is kid and teen approved and is the sweetest, most fun was to have your nails done. The Me! Bath Pedicure uses an ice cream shaped bath product and other yummy ingredients that make this treatment absolutely delicious. You get to choose which soaking ice cream scoop to use in your treatment. (45 minutes)
• Magical Manicure $29 – This manicure will leave your hands looking magnificent during your cruise vacation. You can have it with or without polish. (25 minutes)
• Sole Mate $39 – You will love this pedicure! Walk on air after you experience this delightful foot treatment and polish. (45 minute)

Senses Salon Services

The salon services for both men and women as Senses Spa & Salon are designed to help guests discover a new you with the one-on-one consultations with a member of the salon’s internationally trained staff.  Unlike other services at Senses Salon and Spa, the salon operates as a walk-in or with an appointment booked onboard.  Reservations will be taken as early as 1 PM on embarkation day.

• Frangipani scalp treatment Price from $26 – A balanced formula created with botanical extracts—including those from the Tahitian frangipani flower—is gently massaged into your scalp, leaving it soothed and conditioned.
• Permanent color – full head Price from $49 – Create new impressions with a whole new hair color, or simply restore the full vibrancy of your current color. Our expert stylists can help you achieve the look you want.
• Highlights Price from $85 – Add shine to your tresses with highlights. The professional stylists can advise on the best shades for your hair and apply stunning streaks of color for a fresh new look.
• Permanent color – roots Price from $49 – Touch up your roots with permanent color, expertly matched and applied by trained specialists.
• Semi-permanent color Price from $49 – Try out a fresh look with semi-permanent hair color, expertly applied by the trained specialists.
• Womens’ blow dry Price from $30 – Add flair to your existing hairstyle or a completely new one with a professional blow dry.
• Women’s shampoo, cut and style Price from $52 – The highly trained stylists will work with you to create the perfect haircut to complement your personal style. Look fresh and fantastic in your vacation photographs!
• Women’s up do Price from $30 – When a formal onboard occasion calls for an elegant up do, the hairdressers can help. Make an appointment to create a look that will turn heads.
• Men’s cut Price from $23 – Whether it’s a classic clean cut or the latest hair trend, the salon specialists can create the look you want with a wide range of men’s hairstyles in their repertoire
• Spa manicure $25 – Beautify your hands with a full-service spa manicure. Moisturize, treat and nourish your skin, and top off your manicure with professionally-applied nail color. (25 minutes min)
• Spa pedicure $45 – Pamper tired feet with a full-service spa pedicure. Salon specialists can apply a full range of treatments, from massages to skin conditioning, nail color, shaping and more. (40 minutes min)

Senses Spa Treatments

The spa services available at Senses Spa & Salon will allow guests to indulge in a vast selection of therapies designed to soothe, rejuvenate and invigorate to help you have the an even more relaxing cruise. The spa specialists will be using an array of Elemis Spa Products for a first-class experience.  A few of the treaments are not even on the ship, rather in special cabana on Castaway Cay! The following treatments can be booked online via Disney Cruise Line’s planning center and onboard beginning at 1PM on embarkation day.

• Absolute Spa Ritual $249 – This treatment consists of a Pro Collagen Marine Facial which includes a collagen-infused Japanese silk mask that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while restoring skin elasticity and deeply nourishing the skin. Top it off with a full body Swedish Massage to sooth away any additional tension. (100 minutes)
• Swedish Massage $118 – This Swedish Massage combines 10 cultural touches from around the world—including Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques—for an ultra-therapeutic experience that’s specially tailored to your body. After a brief consultation, a highly trained and licensed therapist administers a massage that will deliver you into the hands of relaxation. It’s a wonderful way to start a vacation! (50 minutes)
• Swedish Massage for Couples $242 – This massage for couples seamlessly combines 10 exotic cultural touches—including Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques—to create a relaxing and beneficent experience for the each of you. The massage that’s heaven for individuals becomes a shared journey into blissful relaxation for two. When booking this treatment, only one name from your party is needed to reserve. (50 minutes)
• Elemis Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap with Half Body Massage $188 – This rich ocean wrap and half-body massage is a detoxifying and deep-cleansing heated seaweed wrap that nourishes your skin while infusing it with moisture. If you thought the previous spa treatments looked relaxing wait until you read about the Senses Spa Villa treatments.  The Spa Villas are elegant Mediterranean-inspired suites with private open air verandah, whirlpool, open air shower, a Roman canopy bed, complete with a tea ceremony to accompany a bathing ritual of your choice and a foot cleansing.  A variety of treatments are available for couples and individuals range from 105 to 155 minute sessions in the tranquil oasis created aboard the re-imagined Disney Magic.  Some of the following treatments can be booked online via Disney Cruise Line’s planning center while others can only be booked onboard beginning at 1PM on embarkation day.

• Couple’s Choice $475 – The Couple’s Choice delivers 130 minutes of comfort and pleasure, and includes a 75-minute spa treatment of your choice. Select from a range of treatments, including the Elemis Aroma Stone Therapy, an Elemis Cellutox Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap, an Elemis Musclease Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap, an Exotic Lime & Ginger Salt Glow with half-body massage, an Exotic Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap with half-body massage, or an Exotic Coconut Rub & Milk Ritual Wrap with half-body massage. An all new Smile Spa will be part of the re-imagined Senses Spa & Salon to brighten your day—and your smile. The Smile Spa will offer a safe, effective teeth-whitening services for adults.

Barber Shop

The barber shop is a special place at the Senses Spa & Salon for the gentlemen to Clean up during the cruise with a stylish haircut and classic hot-towel shave. A variety of hairstyling and grooming services will be available to give the guys that finishing touch for looking your best for a special dinner adult only dinner at Palo or with the entire family in one of rotational restaurants.

While we included the prices, or in some cases the based prices (which are subject to change) for the various treatments and services it is important to take into consideration the automatic 18% gratuity that will be added to your bill plus any additional tipping you may find appropriate. A good number of the Senses Spa & Salon services and treatments can be reserved well before your cruise via Disney Cruise Line’s online through the Planning Center.  Some of the options can only be booked onboard any time after 1:00 PM on the first day of your cruise.
