Earlier today, PortMiami tweeted that as a result of the tragic event that took place during Monday’s Boston Marathon the port would be in a state of heightened security.

I contacted PortMiami, Port Canaveral and the Port of Galveston to see if the increase in security at the respective port would result in additional wait times for passengers arriving and returning from a schedule cruise.

According to a spokesperson from Port Canaveral the enhanced security measures in place should not affect cruise passengers. I am still waiting to hear from PortMiami and the Port of Galveston.

I would still suggest if you are sailing this week or picking someone up from the port that you plan some additional travel time just and pack your patience.  The Magic is in Galveston today, Thursday the Dream will be in Port Canaveral, and the Wonder in Miami.  The Fantasy will be in Port Canaveral on Saturday.
