It is only October, and we are still over a week away from the first Halloween cruises, but Christmas is fast approaching. I mentioned before that the ships will be decked to the raft-ers with holiday cheer mid-November. New this year will be a holiday merchandise collection exclusive to the holiday sailings, which I’m hoping will include some of the custom ornaments created for the Fantasy.
Even if you are not on a holiday cruise you can still order a couple of this year’s ornaments from the DisneyStore.com. The first is the 2012 Disney Cruise Line Glass Ornament feature Captain Mickey looking out a porthole. The ornament is a 3 inch glass ball with a gold string and is priced at $11.95.
The second ornament, and my personal favorite, is made of 3 rings that rotate around a center medallion with an embossed Disney Cruise Line logo, framed by an outline of Mickey Mouse. This is a metal ornament has a silver finish, measures 4 1/2 inches tall by 5 inches wide, and will only set you back $12.95.
What do you think of these ornaments?
I love the 3-rings silver rotating ornament! I saw it on the Sept. 16th Disney Vacation Club cruise. I didn’t buy it but am glad to know I can purchase it now. I also loved the gold 2012 “ships window” (round-can put a picture in it), but didn’t buy that, either. Will it become available for purchase? It would be so adorable to put pictures of my family in the ornament as a wonderful keepsake of our trip!
Last weekend I saw the same 3-ring ornament at Walt Disney World. The only difference is that the center medallion did not have the DCL logo.
I do need to point out, after seeing it in person that it seemed chinsy.
Thanks for the input! I appreciate your honesty about the 3-ring ornament.
Do you know if I might be able to purchase the 2012 Christmas “porthole” decoration anywhere besides on the Disney Dream?
