On Monday, March 23, 2020, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced executive order 20-80, which requires those who travel to Florida through airports from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to self-isolate for 14 days upon entering the state or the duration of the person’s presence in the State of Florida, whichever is shorter.
The order went into effect at 12:01 am March 24, 2020, and is tied in with Florida’s March 9th Executive Order State of Emergency 20-52, which was established for 60 days pending an extension. Fuzzy math would make the expiration date around May 8, 2020. Alternatively, the Governor could issue an executive order lifting the isolation or quarantine pending advice from Florida’s State Health Officer and Surgeon General. This is where things get a little complicated as Disney Cruise Line is scheduled to end it’s 30-day shutdown on April 13th. If Florida does not lift the executive order those planning to fly to Florida from New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut for a Disney Cruise in April and early May would be required to self-isolate for 14-days.

At this time, there are NO policy changes from the cruise line related to the executive order. I am simply passing along the latest information I called a developing story on Twitter Monday night.
I’ve reached out to Disney Cruise Line to see if they will take the latest Executive Order into consideration when working with Guests booked on sailings with the effective dates of Florida’s Coronavirus Executive Orders. At this time, we have not heard back but will update this article if additional information becomes available.
Why would the May 9th cruise be effected or May 8th is the end?
It is part of my fuzzy math on the calculation of the end date.
RCCL has now announced that all cruises will be cancelled for an additional 30 days making the first cruise date well into Mid-May. I am sure all others will soon follow that timeline
Cruise ships might not have a problem with this as getting on a cruise ship would likely count as making efforts towards leaving the state and therefore ends the isolation.
