Construction Update: Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point – December 2023

The following is a look at some of the development of Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point as of the first week of December 2023. Tara Lenharth was on vacation in Eleuthera and snapped a few pictures of the progress from the publicly accessible areas on land and from boat. Tara kindly shared the following photos with Len Testa of TouringPlans.com who graciously passed them along.

Before we get into the construction photos, I wanted to share the Lighthouse Point Concept Plan to provide an overview of the property development.

According to the information passed down to me, the road Disney built for access is “by far the best road on the entire island.” The wide roadway features side drainage and most importantly no potholes.

The roadway leads to the public beach access where there is a small parking lot which can accommodate about 10 cars. From the public beach access, Lighthouse Point is a 2 mile hike.

There is a construction entrance which is as close as you can get to Disney’s development by car.

However, by boat you can get a view of the structures Disney Cruise Line is building along the Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point coastline such as these cabanas.

I’m choosing to not name anything in the following photos as I do not want to make any assumptions, but you can see more structures under construction below.

Last but not least, is the pier to accommodate the docking of Disney Cruise Line’s ships.

In June 2024, Disney Cruise Line will welcome guests to the cruise line’s newest Bahamian destination on the island of Eleuthera at Lighthouse Point. On June 6, a 3-night preview cruise on the Disney Magic from Fort Lauderdale will offer a sneak peek of Lighthouse Point with limited access to some areas. A 7-night inaugural sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy from Port Canaveral, Florida, on June 8 will allow guests to be among the first to make a splash in the crystal-clear waters of this new destination at Lighthouse Point. This ultimate Disney Cruise Line island destination itinerary will feature two stops at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and one day at Castaway Cay.
