Disney Cruise Line Registered as an Australian Business

Recent filings with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) may offer a potential look into future cruise ship deployment plans for Disney Cruise Line. However, before reading further, please keep in mind this somewhat falls into the rumor and speculation category. The following is simply a paper trail of sorts, not an announcement or actual future plans.

I received an email from Keith Simpson, a reader from Sydney, Australia who has been keeping an eye on business registrations hoping that one day he’d see a mention of Disney Cruise Line. Recently, Keith’s wish came true, and he was kind enough to share the details.

For a company to do business in Australia, they must be registered with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) and have an Australian Business Number (ABN). For comparison, the ASIC is similar to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Late last year, an Australian Business Number was assigned to Magical Cruise Company, LTD active from October 14, 2021.

This year, Magical Cruise Company, LTD was registered as a foreign company with ASIC on March 28, 2022.

Then, on April 6, 2022, Disney Cruise Line was registered as an associated business name.

The question becomes, why did Disney Cruise Line register as a business in Australia… Over the last year or so, there have been some wonderful rumors about future cruise ship deployments. Only time will tell if the recent business registrations result in new itineraries, but for now we can only speculate.
