The Vault: 2007 Inaugural Mediterranean Cruise Season Promotion

In this installment of The Vault, we are going to cruise back to 2006 by taking a look at an onboard advertisement for what would become the Disney Magic’s first year sailing the Mediterranean. At the time, the Disney Wonder was sailing 3-/4-night Bahamian cruises, and the Disney Magic offering the 7-night Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral. The eye-catching handout asking guests if they were leaning toward a European vacation used the Disney Magic’s iconic funnel paired with the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

On the reverse, guests were introduced to the new Mediterranean cruise offerings aboard the Disney Magic which would sail for the first time in summer 2007.

Come with us to explore breathtaking European destinations on an incredible family vacation filled with magic, charm and world-famous services of a Disney cruise.

During the Disney Magic’s 2007 inaugural European season included 9 sailings from Barcelona, Spain. Disney Cruise Line offered 10-night Mediterranean and 11-night Mediterranean cruises with the shorter cruise visiting the same ports, but one less day at sea.

On May 12, 2007, the Disney Magic departed Port Canaveral for her first trip back to Europe since she was built on a 14-Night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise. Once in Barcelona, the alternating 10-\11-night Mediterranean cruises began visiting Palermo (Sicily), Naples, Olbia (Sardinia), Civitavecchia (Rome), La Spezia, Marseilles, and Villefranche, France. On August 8, 2007, the Magic ended her European vacation and embarked on a 14-night Transatlantic cruise back to Port Canaveral.
