Pathway to the Resumption of Domestic Cruising in England On Track for Mid-May 2021

During a March 8, 2022 All Party Parliamentary Maritime and Group meeting, Minister for Aviation & Maritime Robert Courts announced domestic cruising in England could possibly resume beginning May 17, 2021.

According to a report by The Independent, a Department of Transport spokesperson clarified to the news outlet, the return of domestic cruises would be aligned to the reopening of domestic tourism and indoor hospitality, and confirmed the earliest date for that step was May 17.

At this time, there is no evidence Disney Cruise Line will offer domestic cruises in the English market aboard the Disney Magic, even though the ship is laid up in the Port of Dover. However, we will continue to monitor the situation.

I certainly hope so, my wife and I miss our Disney cruises. Our 2020 and 2021 cruises were cancelled but we did get the credits for both to apply for later. Those ships are relaxing get away for the both of us (as it is for others too) as a vacation.

After hearing President Biden last night on TV. He is hopeful that by July America might be back to some sort of normalcy. Given that the vaccines will lead to herd immunity, we might see domestic cruising by Fall of 2021. I would be all in favor of a cruise out of Florida and California to nowhere (just sail in the ocean with no ports of call). That would allow guests to enjoy the cruise experience again. Going into foreign ports opens up a lot of problems with cruise guests possibly contracting the virus. Ships going out of Florida can also stop at Castaway Cay.
