In this installment of The Vault, we are going to take a trip back to 1985 with another look at the early days of land and sea vacations via Disney’s partnership with Premier Cruise Lines. At the time, the marketing campaign claim to fame was the only cruise and Walt Disney World week.
The November 1985 issue of National Geographic, which I obviously saved with my old comic books because of the really cool hologram on the front. Sure, this is not nearly as cool now, but fascinating back in 1985. The issue featured a special advertising supplement across four pages promoting Epcot, Magic Kingdom, a vacation package including airfare with Eastern Airlines, and a 4-night cruise with a 3-day vacation at Walt Disney World.
