If anyone is still reading this, I’m going to go off a mini-rant. As Disney launches new platforms such as Disney+, and rolls their ever expanding catalog of websites giving under the Disney Account, guests are presented with easy access to everything Disney with one set of credentials. However, this expands the exposure for hackers. I cannot tell you how many legitimate password reset PIN emails I get since Disney+ launched at an email address I don’t even have associated with a Disney Account. Pro-tip, don’t use your website’s email for important accounts. As the Disney Account becomes the lone credential for planning vacations, shopping, streaming, and now managing gift cards; Mickey needs to get his internet security team to sit down and deliver a two-factor authentication system for the Disney Account to protect everything we do online with Disney.
We had never used Disney gift cards for trips to the World or Cruise. We decided to get in on the savings when paying for our May 2020 cruise. Now what a mess that is certainly not worth any of the savings. We have to have any refunds placed back on the Disney gift cards or just roll over our account on another cruise to use our money. But who could have predicted a world wide pandemic? Wish we had just used our Disney Credit Card – it would have made things so much easier!!
Total agree with the 2 factor authentication!
Interesting date for the go-live. Will they announce a resumption date then too.
I doubt there is any correlation with the Disney Gift Card website transition and any Disney Cruise Line announcements.
