Disney Magic Stateroom 8598 Tour – Category 4E Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah

During #DCLBlogCruise 2 aboard the Disney Magic, we stayed in stateroom 8598, a Category 4E Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah. In general, the category offers 304 square feet of space, features the popular split bath layout, and sleeps up to 5 guests with additional Murphy bed and drop down bunk. The oceanview part of the name is due to the white wall verandah. It is worth noting, the stateroom would be similar aboard the Disney Wonder.

Stateroom 8598 is located on the starboard side almost all the way aft. The aft stairs and elevators are a short walk down the hallway providing quick access to Cabanas & the pool deck!

Just like the staterooms across the fleet, the bed is elevated providing ample storage space to store suitcases for the duration of the sailing after unpacking.  This stateroom is an organizer’s delight with plenty of additional storage space. Similar to most rooms, you have a closet opposite the split bath, then over on the other side of the stateroom, the desk adds offers additional drawers. On top of all that, there is a large dresser at the foot of the Murphy bed near the verandah door.  There was more than enough space to hold a week’s worth of clothes and belongings for the 3 of us which is awesome as it keeps the stateroom looking orderly.

This stateroom category offers the convenient split bath, which allows for two people to simultaneously get ready for dinner and other activities.

The stateroom suitable for up to 5 guests was extremely comfortable for the 3 of us. The queen size bed is near the bath with pull out couch and drop down bunk in the middle opposite the desk. Along the verandah door is a Murphy bed. Since Isabelle chose the drop down bunk, we did not use the Murphy bed which left the area near the verandah wide open making the room feel huge.

The stateroom is listed as an Oceanview with verandah because the view is limited due to what is referred to as a whitewall verandah. The nice part about this stateroom’s outdoor space is that it is protected with the additional overhang from deck 9. The overhang offers additional shade depending on the time of day and helps when it is raining allowing use of the space in inclement weather. While the view from inside the stateroom is hampered, the stateroom still offers a spot to enjoy some fresh sea air without leaving your cabin.

I hope you enjoy the following video tour of stateroom 8598 aboard the Disney Magic.

Overall, we really enjoyed this stateroom. As I mentioned, the stateroom 8598 is spacious, and would be a highly recommended stateroom for a longer sailing where the room will be much more of a home away from home. The amazing storage storage space will help keep the room tidy even with 5 guests. One really small, but amazing feature of this stateroom which I almost forgot to mention was a bench seat near the closet. It was useful as a seat to put on shoes, as well as a lower shelf to quickly drop off a backpack. We did not encounter any noise issues, and the room was in great shape.

Have you stayed in this type of room, what did you think about it?
