Tropical Storm Dorian Forces the Disney Fantasy to the Western Caribbean

The Disney Fantasy left Port Canaveral on Saturday August 24, 2019 for a scheduled 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise, the same day tropical depression five formed in the Atlantic Ocean. Tropical depression five soon intensified to Tropical Storm Dorian with a forecast track through the Lesser Antilles.

The forecast track of Tropical Storm Dorian resulted in Captain Marco making the decision to re-route the Disney Fantasy to the Western Caribbean. In a letter to guests, the changed was made due to the possible impact of Tropical Storm Dorian to the Eastern Caribbean and to keep a safe distance from the the tropical system that is forecast to intensify into a hurricane later in the week.

Disney should refund people that spent money on a specific cruise. I get it safety concerns. But why do they never refund. some places are are once in a lifetime vacation for example cast away isn’t on everyone’s itinerary and for it to get cancelled. They should always give them another cruise that goes to cast away for 50% off. They travel all year long and no when hurricane season but still won’t lose out on a dollar. that’s the least they can do to give back to there customer for choosing dcl in stead of all the rest. They done that to me and my family and will probably never get to go to castaway again.
