Disney Cruise Line Announces Six Additional Disney Dream Sailings for Late-August and Early-September 2020

Disney Cruise Line quietly added 6 new sailings for the Disney Dream in late 2020. The Disney Dream will now fill a previous 3-week void with 3- and 4-night Bahamian sailings. There are a few different itineraries for all visiting Nassau and Castaway, just with different port orders. Additionally, the majority of the new sail dates are shifted a day from the standard Monday/Friday departures to Thursday/Sunday departures.

The new sail dates are as follows:

Below is a look at the specific itineraries for the new sail dates.

During the Summer 2020 Itinerary announcement I speculated the 3-week itinerary gap for the Dream was for a 2020 dry dock. At this time, I do not see any sail dates missing leading me to speculate the dry dock is being pushed to at least October 2020.

It is plausible, the April 2019 incident at the Grand Bahama shipyard which damaged Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas caused a ripple effect resulting in delays in the shipyard that ultimately pushed Disney’s scheduled time in the dry dock out a few more weeks.

We should have a clearer picture of when the Disney Dream will have a dry dock as soon as the Fall 2020 itinerary release occurs, which at this point I’d say it they will be announced soon.

UPDATE: Following the Fall 2020 itinerary release, the Disney Dream was left with a 6-week itinerary gap is between October 2, 2020 and November 12, 2020 leading me to speculate this was the time blocked out for dry dock. It would appear based on the additional sailings added late-July 2019, the Disney Dream is slated for dry dock between October 5  and October 31, 2020.

The accident definitely has had an effect. The Celebrity Equinox was to be there now for her Revolutionizing, but she is sailing to Cadiz for a modified redo.
