Disney Cruise Line announced they will be converting 12 additional Disney Wonder staterooms on deck 8 to Category V Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah. The furnishings and amenities will be upgraded by the September 30, 2019 sailing on the Disney Wonder.
The following 4A – Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah are being converted to Category V Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah:
According to DCL, these staterooms will be open for sale as a Category V, Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom in early October and there will be no impact to existing reservations.
In 2017, DCL converted 10 staterooms on the Disney Wonder and the Disney Dream to concierge staterooms. This change will bring the number of Category V staterooms up to 22 and 44 total concierge staterooms.
Hmm. I understand that they can charge more money for these rooms but isn’t this going to make the concierge lounge crowded? It seems like this will negatively impact the concierge guests. At what point will the number of concierge rooms outnumber the available cabanas on Castaway Cay? For me personally, being able to get a cabana would be the best perk of being concierge. Not that I’ll ever have to worry about it. Lol!
The Concierge Lounge and Sundeck on the Wonder are large enough to handle the additional guests without feeling too crowded. The additional rooms will make it imperative to send a request to Shoreside Concierge right at 12:00:01 125 days before sailing if you want a cabana. It’s going to be next to impossible for a Platinum cruiser to reserve a cabana at 120 days.
The number of rooms already outnumbers the cabanas on Castaway Cay. The lounge on the Disney Wonder should be able to accommodate the additional guests.
